Canadian Passport Photo Tips
Please review all current Canadian guidelines prior to applying for your passport.
*Wear clothing that will contrast clearly with the required white backdrop. We recommend black, navy or other dark colours. Your images may get declined if you wear a white or light coloured shirt
*Have a neutral expression, mouth closed and not smiling.
*If you normally wear glasses you may wear for your photo as long as eyes are clearly visable and the glasses are not tinted. We recommend taking glasses off for optimal results
*hats and head coverings worn for medical or religious reason are permitted, as long as your entire face can be seen and the item does not cast shadows on your face. Headbands are not permitted.
*infants should be over 3 months old with good head and neck control. Infant passports are valid for 5 years and it's recommended to obtain their first passport as close to travel as possible for optimal results. At this time we do not offer infant passport photos for babies under 3 months old or babies without good head and neck control. Parents may hold their baby upright but no hands or other body parts can show in the photo. Please dress your baby in a dark coloured shirt. Infants must be awake and have a neutral, mouth closed expression.
