    No specific educational background requirement. This is a foundational herbalism program. Consistency, commitment, motivation and hard work is required to walk the plant path at Herbalism In Practice.

    Students must be at least 18 years old.

    Reliable transportation to and from the Los Angeles National Forest is required.

    Expect to spend five to ten hours per week on reading assignments, projects, and occasional homework on top of your classes.

     

  • Do you have reliable transportation to and from the Los Angeles National Forest for the dates listed on the website? Note that you will need reliable transportation to be a part of this apprenticeship.*
  • Would you like to join the Oak cohort or the Pine Cohort?*
  • Note that the Oak Cohort meets the first 2 Saturday's of the month in-person and the Pine Cohort meets the first 2 Sunday's of the month in-person. Both meet online on the 4th Thursday.

    Yes, you may join on other days when things come up with proper communication and consideration but you have to choose one cohort to belong to. You may not switch back and forth at all times.

  • We do a lot of communication through Telegram. Will you be able to join us and check in every other day to contribute to the group chat?*
  • Payment plants are an administrative fee added to the total. This fee goes towards setting up, tracking and adjusting payment plans and schedules. A 6 or 9 months schedule will be agreed on after your acceptance. A 6 month plan accrues a $125 administrative fee & a 9 month plan accrues a $155 fee. A $555 deposit that goes towards your tuition is also required upon acceptance. Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Work Trade assistants will show up 1 hour before every in-person class and stay 30 minutes after every in-person class to set up & break down. Occasionally, they will also help document throughout the in-person classes with some phone photography & video. Punctuality, willingness to help, confidence taking photos and video for social media, and availability are required to be considered.

    To apply for a Work Trade position, a letter of recommendation is required. Work Trade assistants receive a 25% discount from the Regular Tuition. Payment plans subject to an administrative fee and deposit. Work Trade discount cannot be combined with the BIPOC discount.

  • Herbalism in Practice does not receive any outside grants or funding and therefore we are unable to offer any scholarships this year. We are also a first-generation immigrant, Woman, and BIPOC ran program. 

    BIPOC 10% discounts are first come first serve with 3 discount spots available this time around. Payment plans available.
