Contract Agreements
By submitting this application, I give HERO Hound permission to contact my references, veterinarian, and landlord (if applicable) regarding all statements in this application.
I understand that most dogs will require an adjustment period. Some require a few days while many will require longer to adjust to a new home and routine. Research states most dogs take 3 months to feel at home in a new environment.
All HERO Hound adoptable dogs are microchipped. The HERO Hound Rescue is listed on all microchips and must remain on microchip as a contact at all times. Do you agree to these terms?
All HERO Hound adopted dogs are to have access to the essentials: food, water, and shelter and to receive ample and adequate time outside. Do you agree to these terms?
I agree to take my rescue dog as is, with all defects, either observable or otherwise, and assume full risk for the dog/animal from date of adoption. Thorough care is given to the physical condition, temperament, and health of each dog prior to adoption. Every possible effort is made to match HERO dogs to a home that is compatible with their unique personalities. Do you agree to this statement?
If, at any time, you am unable to care for, or to provide for your HERO Hound adopted dog, you will agree to notify Director Michelle Bowen, and will surrender him/her back into her care. You agree NOT to give away, sell, or surrender to any shelter, pound, or individual the possession of any HERO Hound adopted dog.
Transfer of ownership may occur if the adopting individual(s) find that they are unable to care for the animal in the manner they originally intended. Transfer may be in the form of a trust or he/she may be given to a family member, or trusted friend, who agrees to care for the dog in compliance with the terms of the adoption agreement. HERO Hound will be notified if dog transfers ownership at any time. Do you agree to these terms?
Euthanasia, under the advisement and administration of a licensed veterinarian is acceptable when all other measures of pain management have been exhausted and the quality of life has been compromised. Do you agree to these terms?
All adoptions start with a two-week trial period. Finalized adoption papers/or the notice to return of an adoptive dog can be submitted via email/text/private message. You may notify HERO Hounds at any time, within the two-week period, your intent to adopt or return. Do you agree to these terms?
If you are chosen to adopt a HERO dog, you assume responsibility of the dog’s actions and shall NOT hold HERO Hound Rescue responsible for claims for personal injury, injury to others, and/or property damage associated with the adoption. Do you agree to these terms?
The $300 adoption fee is due prior to adoption. You may pay by check, Venmo or PayPal or CashApp. Do you agree to make payment prior to transport and receiving your HERO Hound adoptive dog?
Misrepresenting or omission of details is cause for denial of adoption. By submitting this application, I attest that all statements made by me in this application are truthful.
This application does NOT ensure approval for adoption and HERO Hound Rescue reserves the right to deny the application for any reason.
