Community Connections and Cultivating Creativity

Creativity may feel personal, but it rarely grows in isolation. It is shaped by the people who care for us, the places that hold our stories, and the ways we learn to care for one another.

Join us at The Table on Tuesday, August 18th from 6–8 PM at Maria’s Mexican Restaurant for an evening of dinner, conversation, creativity, and connection.

This month, we’ll be joined by Ogden-based writer and community worker Jennifer Primbs. Jennifer will share how community care, both received and given, became the foundation of her creative work.

Through the story of her family’s restaurant, The Star Noodle Parlor, and the Neon Dragon that once lived on Historic 25th Street, Jennifer will take us into a piece of Ogden history while exploring the communities and relationships that shape what we create.

We’ll also talk about the ecosystem of care and the practices we can build into our everyday lives to better support ourselves and the people around us. Jennifer will guide us through conversations about skill sharing, activism, branching out, and using our emotional truths as a catalyst for creativity. We’ll end with a few writing prompts to help you explore what those ideas mean in your own life.

You do not need to consider yourself a writer or an artist to participate. Just bring yourself and a willingness to reflect, connect, and maybe see your own creativity a little differently.
