• Sulcata Tortoise Information Form

  • We are looking for care information from experienced sulcata owners of 2 years or more. This info will be placed on a sulcata care website eventually. If you would like to contribute anonymous, just leave your name blank. Please answer as much as possible.

We are looking for overall info on how you cared for your tortoise since day 1, and we are looking to see what the outcome is. If possible please add a current picture of your tortoise when finished.

This info combined with others can help future owners. There is so much mixed information on the web, so testimonials is our way of leveling that info out.

  • Thank You for taking the time to contribute. Your experiences matter! We will post these on the East Texas Reptile Rescue website. We are hoping to build a tortoise diaries type addition. This will give users an easy way to search the info and find what methods have worked and what has not worked.

We have also added a paypal donation link below. If you would like to donate any amount to the East Texas Reptile Rescue, your money will go towards finding and securing tortoises in need of a new home.

If you are looking to adopt a sulcata tortoise, please go to our website and complete the application. When applying you will be asked for a $25 application fee, this is the only fee we ask when rehoming an animal.

If approved, you will be placed on the waiting list. Waits are shorter in the winter time due to more rescues coming from Nothern STates. The average wait is 1 week to 6 months. Because we are more of a 3rd party in the process, we act as the match maker most of the time. In some cases we only locate the animal then find a perfect home for it. We only house around 30 reptiles here. We hope to house up to 50 reptiles and up to 10 tortoises in the near future.
