  • RUN FORWARD INITIATIVE 2026: Making the Austin Marathon Accessible to All

  • Are you dreaming of running the Austin Marathon but facing barriers that make it feel out of reach? Whether it's financial hardship, social challenges, or health-related obstacles, RUN FORWARD is here to help remove those barriers and get you to the start line.

  • What is RUN FORWARD?

RUN FORWARD is the Austin Marathon's access initiative, designed to open the door for individuals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate. We believe that everyone deserves to experience the thrill, pride, and joy of crossing the finish line—regardless of their circumstances.
  • How It Works

  •  Step 1: Apply
Tell us your story by filling out the application form. We want to understand the challenges you’re facing and how a sponsored marathon entry could support your journey.

     Step 2: Review & Selection
Our team thoughtfully reviews each submission. We’re looking for applicants who will truly benefit from the opportunity to participate in the Austin Marathon through a donated entry.

     Step 3: Notification & Registration
If you are selected as a participant in RUN FORWARD, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a promo code to register for the Austin Marathon at no cost. (Note: Codes are nontransferable and valid only for the 2026 event.).

  • How Entries Are Donated

  • During our Launch Week, May 12–19, we’re giving back:
For every registration we receive, we’ll donate a free entry to someone in need through RUN FORWARD. These entries are distributed via public applications and through our Austin Marathon Gives charity partners.

  • Why We Do This

  • We believe running can be life-changing—and everyone deserves the chance to be part of something powerful. RUN FORWARD breaks down barriers and helps more people experience the joy, strength, and connection that come from taking on the Austin Marathon.

  • Let’s RUN FORWARD. Let’s take strides toward a more inclusive running community.
