  • Agritourism Changes Survey

  • NSW Government is seeking to improve the planning system to better enable working farms to diversify and supplement farm incomes through small scale tourism activities, if they wish. These activities include things like functions, accommodation and value adding to farm produce.

The intention is to enable more on farm activities without the need for expensive and time consuming development approvals, while respecting the main business enterprise is production in a rural setting.

We are interested in any concerns you may have with the proposed changes, and seek your input to assist us in suggesting any changes to the draft.

Further information on the proposed changes is available here, and a copy of the proposed instrument to make the changes is available here.

  • Do you currently engage in any of these activities alongside the running of your farm?
  • Does agritourism and value adding fit into your skills or business plan?
  • Do you have any interest in starting up one of the agritourism activities alongside your farming business?
  • Is there support, like training or guidance, that Government could provide to create an opportunity for you to take advantage of these changes?
