The above-named volunteer desires to participate in animal rescue, training, and placement activities as an unpaid volunteer for Hollywood Huskie (“HH”). Volunteer understands that in order to participate, Volunteer is required to sign this release, which is permanently legally binding on Volunteer and upon Volunteer’s family, relatives, heirs, successors and assigns, and in which Volunteer knowingly and intentionally gives up all rights to sue anyone or to pursue any damages or claims as described herein.
Rescuing, training, and placing dogs and other animals can involve working with animals and equipment that could lead to injury or otherwise expose Volunteer to dangerous conditions or situations, including by way of example danger from people, animals (including bites), situations, terrain, vehicles (including Volunteer’s own vehicle and driving), equipment, buildings, roadways, chemicals, weather, and premises (the “Risks”). Volunteer is aware of these Risks, and aware that HH cannot be and is not responsible for Risks, all of which are undertaken by Volunteer of their own free will and judgment, without reliance on any representations or warranties express or implied from HH, knowing that Volunteer is under no obligation to participate, and that Volunteer may withdraw from participation at any time that Volunteer chooses for any reason or no reason, meaning that Volunteer knowingly undertakes the activities and knowingly chooses to encounter Risks and their potential negative outcome.
Knowing of these Risks, and nevertheless desirous of participating in the above activities, Volunteer, on behalf of themselves, their family, insurers, heirs and assigns, hereby expressly agrees to hold harmless and release HH, its directors, officers, employees, agents, assigns, insurers and other volunteers and third parties, from and against any damages, liability, causes of action whatsoever, whether based on negligence or otherwise, and including any and all manner of injury, damage to personal property, and death, and covenants and promises not to sue HH or anyone else, for any reason. VOLUNTEER PERMANENTLY ASSUMES ALL RISKS, RELEASES AND FOREGOES ALL CLAIMS, AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE.
For transporting dogs, Volunteer agrees he/she has a valid Driver's License, a valid auto registration, and full-coverage auto insurance. Volunteer agrees to provide all documentation when requested.
Volunteer also grants HH the nonexclusive worldwide right to use Volunteer’s image, likeness, and name in connection with advertising HH and its mission. This Agreement is the entire agreement and supersedes any other written or verbal understandings or statements and shall be governed by California law with exclusive jurisdiction in Los Angeles, California.
