BAPTISM TESTIMONY INSTRUCTIONS (INFANTS)

Matthew 19:14 – 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

At HolyWave SRCC, we believe infant baptism to be one of the most joyous moments that a family can celebrate, as we acknowledge the child’s belonging to God’s covenant of grace. In celebration of this occasion, we ask that the parents write a testimony of faith to share with the HolyWave family.

As you write your testimony, please take the time to prayerfully reflect on how God has been working in the life of your family as you prepare to see your child baptized. The questions below serve as a template for you to process as you write your testimony. Your testimony should be around 500-700 words.

Questions to Consider

1. What are some of the God-given blessings that you recognize surrounding the birth and life of your child?
2. What kind of person do you hope to see your child become?
3. How do you plan to raise your child in light of your faith?
4. How will you become God-honoring, gospel-centered parents?
5. What kind of faith culture do you hope to establish as a family?

BAPTISM TESTIMONY INSTRUCTIONS (ADULTS)

Acts 1:8 – 13 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Every Christian is called to stand publicly before God, the church, and the world, and make the good confession of faith. As you are preparing to become baptized at HolyWave SRCC, we ask that you prepare a testimony of faith as a way of making that “good confession” (1 Timothy 6:12-14).

Before you prepare to write your testimony, take some time to prayerfully reflect on how God has been working in your life to draw you near to Him. The questions below serve as a template for you to process as you write your testimony. Your testimony should be around 500-700 words.

3. What factors led you to identify sin in your life and recognize your need for forgiveness and new life in Christ?

5. Why do you believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ?
6. How has Jesus transformed your life, overcome your sin, and confronted your idols?
7. How have you been growing in Christ?
