We would like to get a count of how many children/teens participate in library summer reading programs. We do not count attendance at each program, as children/teens may attend more than one program and would be counted more than once. Children did not need to "complete" your program, only "participate" (according to how your library defines "participation."). We will ask for your "completion" numbers further along in the report.
If you separated your summer reading programming into age groups, please tell us how many children in each age group participated in summer reading (totaled, these numbers should match the number you submitted above).
If you visited summer nutrition programs, daycares, schools, clinics, events, etc. to host a library event or hand out books during the summer months, we would like your best estimate of the number of children and teens you made contact with and delivered the message, "Read over the summer!"One way to do this would be to count the number of books distributed or the number of reading logs distributed at outreach sites. Please do your best to count these children/teens only once.
If your library participated in School Visits, School Partnerships, or Reaching Underserved Children, you will need to submit program participation numbers below.
Data tracking sheets for each program below were provided to the library director and applicant of each program. These sheets should help you provide accurate information. Not all information on the data tracking sheets will need to be submitted on this report, but that information will be helpful to you in planning for next year.
Schools that achieved their goal will receive five additional hardcover books, if this report is submitted by September 15. If any schools listed above achieved their goal, the public library will also receive five additional hardcover books. In October ICfL will send the book sets and thank you letters to the public library to distribute to the schools.
CSLP allows schools and community partners to order theme materials and incentives from the Upstart catalog and Shop site. An extra catalog was included with your program manual last fall to give to a school or community partner, and libraries were allowed to order additional catalogs on the ICfL website.
