Worksheet for Libraries Hosting READY! for Kindergarten® Workshops as Grant Projects
  • Before applying for a Kindergarten Readiness Grant, please meet with an Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (IDAEYC) representative to determine the parameters of your project, using the guidelines below.

Note: There are three sections to work through:

Section A: Workshop Choice and Family Kits
Section B: Site Coordinator and Workshop Facilitators
Section C: Supplemental Costs (child care, food, translation, supplemental materials)

    • Section B: Site Coordinators(s) and Facilitator(s)
    • NOTE: Site Coordinator and/or Facilitator can be library staff, volunteers, or paid contractors.

Salaries/Benefits: Library staff currently on payroll should not be paid additional funds if the responsibilities of coordination or facilitation fall within regular working hours and/or are considered part of the employee’s job duties. If coordination or facilitation responsibilities would put the employee over their current contracted work week, grant funds can be used to extend the employee’s hours (not to exceed 40 hours per week). Rate of pay to include fringe benefits. A personnel report is required at the end of the grant period.

Consultant Fees: A non-library employee can be paid a stipend fee with grant funds to be the site coordinator and/or facilitator. A library employee whose coordination and/or facilitation would exceed their current contracted work week can be paid a stipend separate from their regular paycheck; work with your city clerk or accounting department.
