The ISM Internship exists to expose college students to different ministries and ministerial capacities. It will provide the opportunity to work closely with ISM office staff and our Illinois Assemblies of God youth and children's pastors.
In order to be considered for the ISM Internship, applicants must have had completed at least 1 year of college by the end of the 2025 spring semester. The internship move-in date will be May 7, 2025, with the program running through July 25th. If you need to arrive later than the designated move-in time, please contact the ISM office once you have been accepted into the program.
The ISM Internship is a highly administrative position that will enable students to participate in the behind-the-scenes aspects of district-level ministry, especially in youth and children's camps. Students should show proficiency in basic computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Word & Excel), and have the willingness to learn new programs, processes, and procedures related to youth and children's camps.
Some required tasks students will participate in include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Assisting with administrative and creative aspects of IL district youth and children’s camps.
- Assisting with other district-wide events when applicable.
- Learning new programs (i.e. the District Camp Software).
- Utilizing and demonstrating professional telephone & email etiquette to effectively communicate with parents, youth leaders, etc.
Students applying to be an ISM Intern are required to complete the internship application along with a one page essay answering the following questions:
- Which area of ministry do you feel the Lord leading you to?
- What interests you about this internship?
- What do you feel like you can contribute to ISM?
- What do you expect this internship to do for/in you?
Should your application progress, an interview will be scheduled with the District Student Ministries Director, Pastor Chris Stanley. All intern applicants must have a completed pastoral reference on file to be considered. If you have been accepted into the internship program, you will be subject to a National Background Check. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance no later than April 8th of the internship year.
Applications must be submitted by March 21, 2025 to be considered. More information can be obtained by contacting our office at 217.854.4641 or via email at ilsmonline@idcag.org.
Blessings on you and your summer plans!
