  • About In2science

In2science places volunteer university students as peer mentors in year 7-10 science, maths and STEM elective classes (mentors for VCE classes are also possible by request). The mentors act as learning coaches and role models, increasing student engagement and confidence in STEM. Find out more at http://in2science.org.au/get-involved/host-a-mentor/

    Semester 2 2025 (School Terms 3 & 4)

For schools parternered with Deakin University, mentor visits commence in Week 1 or 2 of Term 3 and will not extend into Term 4. For all other schools, mentor visits commence in Week 3 or 4 of Term 3 and continue into Term 4. Mentors normally visit the class once per week for up to 10 weeks, but this can potentially be extended.

  • Which classes should I register?

You can register up to five Year 7-10 science, maths or STEM elective classes using this form. Mentors for VCE classes can also be requested, however mentor compatability depends on discipline studied.

    • The more classes you register, the higher the likelihood of a match with a volunteer mentor's weekly availability.
    • You can nominate the total number of mentors you would like to host, across all the classes you have registered (e.g. max 2 mentors total across 5 potential classes).
  • Step 1/2: Upload your timetable

You can submit the lesson times for the classes you would like to register by uploading your timetable (e.g. image screenshot from Compass or a Word/Excel/PDF document).

If you have a fortnightly timetable, please provide screenshot(s) that include both weeks and start date for each week (e.g. 26 July = Week 1/Blue week).

Below is an example of an easily understandable timetable.
