Stags Save the Stacks!
Fairfield University has decided— without feedback from students, faculty, or library staff— to build 6 classrooms on the top floor of the DiMenna-Nyselius Library, which will result in discarding at least 10,000 books and eliminating a great deal of quiet study space. We protest the fact that the Library, long considered the heart of the campus, alongside the Chapel as noted by University President Father Jeffrey P. von Arx in 2010, is being asked to sacrifice its essential academic functions to provide classroom space. #StagsSavetheStacks
