Founded in 2003, the Ivy & Roses Community Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the arts and other community building activities in metropolitan Atlanta. Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs. These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact.
Purpose: These awards are in recognition of the Founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., women who were leaders in this noble profession, and to increase the current number of teacher-leaders
Reward: THREE Awards of $1,500 each.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award
Open to African American high school students graduating in Spring 2019 or currently enrolled college students graduating in Spring 2020 or later
Major or intended major in teacher preparation programs at a regionally accredited institution across the country;
Demonstrated academic merit with a GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.0 scale;
Complete an essay discussing the following:
The national necessity for an increase in the number of quality teacher-leaders.
