ABOUT THE ROLE
Rootlings State Champions are volunteer leaders who play a key role in fostering connection, capability, and opportunity for young people across the Australian wine sector.
This role sits at the heart of Rootlings, connecting people, ideas, and opportunities and plays a vital part in shaping the future of our industry. Rootlings has the full support of both Wine Australia and the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (ASVO).
More than a volunteer role, it is a springboard for the next generation of leaders. State Champions are supported in growing their skills, expanding their networks, and confidently stepping into future leadership pathways and positions. The position will commence on 1 August 2026 and end June 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Inspire: Create energy, alignment, and shared purpose across your State.
- Represent & Influence: Contribute to national discussions, shaping the direction of Rootlings alongside industry leaders and peers.
- Connect the Network: Act as a key link between your State and Regional Associations and the national Rootlings community, strengthening relationships and opportunities.
- Drive Impact: Champion the delivery of events and initiatives that bring value to young professionals and the broader industry.
- Grow as a Leader: Take part in tailored development opportunities to build the confidence and capability to step into future leadership roles.
Applications close on July 17, with successful candidates notified by the end of July.
