This event is co-sponsored by Congregation Etz Chayim, Congregation B'nai Israel, and Temple Shomer Emunim, and is made possible with the help of a grant from JCC Association of North America and Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism initiative, Mit-habrim ("Connections").

Kristallnacht Commemoration: “Woman in Gold” – Sunday, November 3, 2-4:30 p.m. at the Franciscan Center, Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania *For JFGT Campaign Donors*Join us for a viewing of the film "Woman in Gold," starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds, which will be preceded by a talk by University of Michigan art history professor Shelley Perlove, Ph.D., who will discuss efforts concerning the restitution of Nazi-looted artworks. The movie is based upon the true story of an elderly woman, Maria Altmann, who waged a nearly decade-long legal battle with the Austrian government in an effort to reclaim the famous Klimt painting “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I” which featured her aunt; the work, considered to be a national treasure, had been stolen from Ms. Altmann’s family by the Nazis in 1941. This event is made possible in part by The Arleen and Jon Levine Family Fund of the Toledo Jewish Community Foundation.
