Board Development Training: Preparing to Serve

The Board of Directors for a nonprofit is not only a legal requirement but also the foundation of the organization. Without a vibrant and healthy board that thinks and acts strategically with the mission in mind, the organization will have a challenge with sustainability.

This training will:

define the board member role
detail internal and external roles and responsibilities
discuss the four characteristics of a highly effective board
outlines tasks that should be completed in the first 90 days
Help you answer if you're really prepared to serve as a board member, and for nonprofit founders, whether you have the right people who are really ready to serve

After this session, you as the Executive Director/CEO or board member, will have a better understanding of the Board of Directors as a whole and how each member plays a part in its success.

You will also learn how to hold intentional meetings that lead to desired outcomes.
