  • Welcome

The City of Happy Valley wants your input to help guide and shape plans for a future community park. This survey will offer a brief overview and background context, and then ask you to share your feedback on what programming and park amenities you would like to see for the community.
  • Happy Valley Park System

Happy Valley currently has one community park (Happy Valley Park). It is located two miles away from the future community center and park site.

The new park, which will be situated next to the community center and near the future downtown district, will serve as the primary communal space in the area.

This online open house will consist of the following sections:

  • Background Information

  • Last year, the city purchased 40 acres east of 172nd Avenue to accommodate both a community center and park. The park will be located adjacent to SE Foster Road and the future Scouters Mountain Road. Presently, the land remains undeveloped, offering a significant opportunity to create a space that fulfills the community’s needs.

The following questions ask what kind of park experiences and programming you want to see at the Happy Valley Community Center and Park.
  • When the Happy Valley Community Park is built, it will provide a new open space for neighbors to enjoy. How do you hope to use the new park?

  • Parks can be designed in many different ways to meet the needs of the community.  They can include more natural areas with walking trails and plantings, or sports parks with turf fields and courts.  As we start planning for the Happy Valley Community Park, we want to know what type of park you think would fit best for your community.

    • Equal parts nature and active park with a balance of natural areas and sport facilities.
    • Park that is mostly an active park with limited natural areas.
    • Park that maximizes active uses such as sports facilities, sport courts and play grounds.

  • The Happy Valley Community Park has space for many different activities, but as the design develops, the team may need to make choices about what will be included in the park. Before the design team begins developing concepts, they would like to know what types of park amenities you feel are priorities for Happy Valley Community Park. Please select your top five park amenities.
