New neighborhoods have the potential to provide a variety of community amenities for future residents.

Tree protection

The River Terrace 2.0 area includes some existing large or ecologically important trees such as Oregon White Oaks. The city is exploring ways to help protect these trees when development happens.

Trails

We have heard from the community that access to nature in River Terrace 2.0 is very important, and we are working to develop a trail network for the neighborhood. Depending on where trails are located, they can offer different levels of interaction with nature and protection of habitat.
Which type of trail would you prefer to use?

Paved trails along the edges of natural areas (easier to walk or bike on, better for strollers or wheelchairs, less impact on nature)Natural surface trails made of dirt, gravel, or bark chips that go through natural areas (more of a nature experience, uses low impact materials but may have a greater impact on nature)
