  • Street design

Streets will be designed to slow down cars and help keep people safe. There are many ways to do this, but it’s best to have a mix of strategies. Some examples include adding features that make drivers pay more attention or slow down such as medians, speed bumps, and pedestrian crossings.

  • Active commercial streets

Streets in shopping or commercial areas should feel active, welcoming, and comfortable. This helps people choose to walk or bike, supports local businesses, and makes the area a nicer place to spend time.

  • Businesses in residential areas

  • In River Terrace 2.0, there will be several areas where businesses can be located. There will be a commercial hub near Scholls Ferry Road and two main street areas with businesses like shops, restaurants, and offices, likely with apartments above them.

Near the main streets, businesses and housing are both allowed. In other areas with more housing (like rowhouses and apartments), some businesses will be allowed but might have some limitations.
