    The Join Hands Ministry Christmas Program ensures that children from struggling families experience joy, care, and a sense of community during the holiday season. We know reaching out for help is not always easy. Together with our network of sponsors, it is our hope that you and your family know you are loved and cared about. Because we love you, we pray that the coming new year will bring prosperity, positivity, and better days ahead.

  •  Application Requirements

    • VALID photo ID, such as your driver's license or state ID card is required to be uploaded in the application. This must show a Perry County, PA address. If it does not, please include your address update yellow card with the photo ID.
    • You may apply only for:
      • Your own children - in cases of divorce or biological parents living separately, only one parent can be accepted into this program. This may be determined by first application received or custody paperwork if necessary.
      • Children not biologically yours whom you have legal custody or guardianship of (legal paperwork required)

     

    To Be Eligible, Children Must

    • Live with applicant in a Perry County, PA residence. 
    • Be Newborn through 14 years old on Christmas day. 

  • APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE OCTOBER 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm!

    No applications, resubmissions, or paperwork will be accepted after that date.

                                           

  • What to expect? 

    • Once you have submitted the application you will receive an email saying it was recieved
    • If you did not get an email after applying saying it was recieved, Join Hands Ministry did not get your application 
    • If your application is denied, you will receive an email 
    • If your application is approved, you will receive an email stating you were approved 
      • If approved, you will be contacted between sometime Mid-November to early December to pick up your gifts
    • If you are unsure of the status of your application, you can call our office at 717-582-7844. Please allow up to 7 days for a response
    • Join Hands Ministry does not have the capacity to hold gifts; so please be prepared to pick them up within the designated time provided

  • Remember, you may only apply for:

    • Your own children - in cases of divorce or biological parents living separately, only one parent can be accepted into this program.
    • No child over the age of 14 will qualify for our program.

    What you need to know for gift ideas

    • Join Hands Ministry will not guarantee you receive all the gift ideas you list
    • All gift ideas must be valued at $50 or less; any gift idea that exceeds $50 will be removed before given to the sponsor
    • You may list a gift card option for only one gift idea; if you exceed more than one it will removed before given to the sponsor
    • If you list clothing as a gift idea, you must list U.S. sizes; if not, clothing will be removed from the list

    Gift ideas NOT accepted:

    • Bikes
    • Scooters
    • Glass items
    • Food/candy
    • Items over $50 value
      • Join Hands Ministry doesn't have the room to store gift items as big as bikes, glass items break in bagging and food melts or is crushed

    Applicants accepted into the Join Hands Ministry (JHM) Christmas program may choose to also go to Christmas Treasures (held at the Shermans Dale Ambulance Building).

    Christmas Treasures is a one day event through Young's Church where you may hand pick a few additional gifts for your child/ren who are 12 years old or younger.

    You will need to be able to go to the Shermans Dale Ambulance Building,  located at 260 Richwine Road in Shermans Dale (behind the Dollar General)(write this down!!) on Saturday, December 6th. You may NOT bring your children with you to Christmas Treasures.

    Christmas Treasures is by appointment only, and the only way to get an appointment is through the Christmas Treasures volunteers. You must answer yes to this question to be put on the list for an appointment. Christmas Treasures accepts a limited number of children, therefore not all who answer yes are guaranteed an appointment.  Appointments are given in order of applications received.

    If you sign up for Christmas Treasures you will be contacted via email ONLY. You will receive an email from christmastreasurespeco@gmail.com. It is IMPORTANT that you realize JHM staff is no longer involved in the scheduling of this event. 

  • Great!  Remember, we can only sign up a limited number of families for Christmas Treasures. 

  • Thanks for letting us know!  We will try our best to match you with a church or group close to your area, or may be able to arrange a drop off.  We will contact you once we have a sponsor for your child/ren and give you more information.
