Dear Scholarship Applicant: The Zeta Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. invites you to apply for a $1,000.00 scholarship. This financial aid can be used toward your tuition, the purchase of textbooks, or other expenses the institution may require. Students planning to attend a four-year college, community college, or vocational/technical school in Fall 2026 are eligible to apply. All applicants must be graduating high school seniors. Failure to provide ALL of the required documentation will cause your application to be disqualified. Applicant eligibility will be determined according to the following criteria: 1) Applicant must be a minority male (African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Asian) who is a graduating high school senior in Galveston County, or Alvin/Pearland areas and plans to continue his education in Fall 2026. 2) A completed application must be submitted to the Zeta Tau Lambda Chapter, postmarked no later than the designated deadline of March 1, 2026. 3) An official copy of your high school transcript must be submitted. 4)Two (2) letters of recommendation must be submitted. A teacher or school official must write one. The other can be written by an adult from the community. Recommendations from personal friends or relatives cannot replace either of the two required letters. 5) All applicants must attend scholarship interviews and enrichment workshop. Failure to attend either will disqualify the applicant. 6) Applicant’s financial need, community service, and participation in school activities will be considered. 7) Scholarship recipients must provide proof of admission to the educational institution of choice. Recipients will receive an official award letter from the Zeta Tau Lambda Educational Foundation. The scholarship check will be sent to the college/university and credited to the recipient’s account.
