We are thrilled to open our call for exhibition proposals for the 2027 season! At HJ’s Community Center, we believe that art is a powerful bridge that connects us all. By exhibiting with us, you aren’t just hanging work on a wall; you are becoming a vital part of a vibrant, engaged community. Our gallery serves as a hub for local art lovers and neighbors who offer a warm and welcoming audience for your creative vision.To ensure your work gets the attention it deserves, we are increasing the duration of our exhibitions to approximately three months. This extended exposure allows for deeper community engagement and more meaningful dialogue around your art. Throughout the process, you will have the dedicated support of our Art Coordinator, Angie Jennings, who is committed to making your exhibition a success.We highly recommend visiting our beautiful gallery space before submitting to visualize how your collection will come to life. Only work that is wired or equipped with D-rings can be displayed on our specialized hanging system.
A Special Invitation for Collaborative & Multi-Disciplinary Projects

We are especially enthusiastic about proposals that push the boundaries of a traditional solo show! We warmly invite artists to partner with other creators—such as poets, musicians, or writers—to develop immersive, multi-disciplinary experiences. Whether you are proposing a mixed-media installation or a project that blends visual art with spoken word, we want to help you foster a cohesive and collaborative spirit in our gallery. Let's work together to create something truly unique for the Brookside community!

Submit an image list with the following information: Title, Medium, Size, and Retail Price

Applications must be of original work, completed in the last two-three years and not previously shown in the HJ's Gallery. Selected exhibitions will be scheduled between January – December 2027.

Only 2D works that are wired or D-ringed. Our hanging system cannot accommodate saw-tooth or small triangle rings. 3D only if it can be wired and hung on a hook.

The gallery takes a 30% commission on sales.

The artist is responsible for the installation, however the art coordinator will be there to not only help curate but also with the installation, and be present for the Artist's Reception.

HJ's will print up 200 postcards and 20 11x17 posters, provide some social media marketing and make available the electronic version of the announcement to the artist for their own e-marketing.

Once you are accepted, you will provide additional materials as needed for press releases, and announcements.

Some of these materials are an artist portrait, as well as an inventory of all works to be shown.
