The Scholarship Honors Certificate originated in 1958 in order to recognize brothers for outstanding scholastic achievement. The calculations are based upon the GPA attained during the current academic year. In the case of the non-traditional grading systems, recommendations from their faculty during this time period are required. The certificate is issued by the Central Office following the request of the chapter’s Grand Council Deputy.
The Scholarship Tray Award is given to the Collegiate Chapter with the highest percentage of its eligible membership receiving Scholarship Honors Certificates in the academic year in question.
Eligibility
Collegiate Members of Kappa Psi participating in the professional pharmacy curriculum and in their 2nd or 3rd professional year (meaning only during didactic work and excluding their final APPE rotation year) who have attained a grade point average of at least three (3.0) or the equivalent B grade for the academic year are eligible for Kappa Psi's Scholarship Honors Certificate.
- If the school follows a non-traditional curriculum, eligible members are those in their professional program while still in didactic classes and not on APPE rotations
- If your school follows a non-traditional grading system, you must upload a written recommendation from a faculty member at that school for each listed collegiate member below. This should include a brief description as to why the faculty member feels they deserve the award and should be submitted to the Chapter's Grand Council Deputy. (See below to download sample form.)
Additionally, your chapter must be in good standing with the Central Office as of May 31st of this year to be eligible for the Scholarship Tray Award.
Each collegiate chapter's GCD is responsible for confirming each collegiate member's eligibility. For the collegiate members eligible, please list their names below (grouped by their pharmacy year). GCDs may use the following forms to help confirm eligibility.
Submissions Due: June 1st
Submissions past the deadline will be processed so that Collegiate Members may receive their Scholarship Honors Certificate, but the chapter will not be eligible for the Scholarship Tray Award.
