Local Legislative Committees of Chapters and Provinces should announce a call for amendments to the Local Ordinance from the group’s Members at least once annually. The Committee should then present their recommendations of adoption to the Chapter or announce that no amendments were received during a formal business meeting. The Chapter should then utilize Robert’s Rules of Order to vote on the proposed amendments or vote to confirm that no amendments are required at this time. This process should occur, at a minimum, once annually. Be sure that the Chapter has reviewed the Uniform Collegiate, Graduate, or Province By-Laws prior to voting on any amendments to your Local Ordinances. This will ensure that new updates are not contradicting the Fraternity-wide By-Laws that directly connect to the Local Ordinances of your Chapter.

Once approved, one designee from the Chapter or Province should submit a Microsoft Office Word (.docx file) of your Local Ordinances within 7 days of the vote. This document should utilize the "Track Changes" feature to highlight any amendments to most recent version of the Local Ordinances, if applicable. The date of last review by the Chapter should also be updated for all submissions. If you are unable to find your most up-to-date version of your local ordinances, please retrieve your most recent version of your ordinances in the Portal.

The Legislative Committee will begin the 90-day review period upon submission of this form. A copy of this submission will be sent to the contact information provided below.

If any questions arise, please do not hesitate to reach out to GrandCounselor@KappaPsi.org.
