The Residency Program is for professional artists within the field of dance and choreography, who need studio facilities for a project, rehearsals or artistic research.
What we offer:
- Access to studio space for a 2-3 week period (value approx. 15,000 DKK). Monday to Friday between 4-6 hours per day.
- Additional purchase of morning class at 50 DKK per participant per day.
- Opportunity to receive feedback from experienced choreographers/dramaturgs/producers.
- Possibility to participate in a sharing or workshop at the end of the residency.
- Facilities: changing room, kitchen, WiFi and sound equipment.
What should your application contain:
- A project description (max. 1 page) where you describe your artistic vision. In the application we would like to know where in the process you are - and in what direction you want the project to go.
- Information about other support, funding, co-producers and collaborators.
- CV of the participating artists and/or documentation of artistic practice in the form of links to video/website and/or image material (Please do not attach large files).
What does København Danser Studios expect from you:
- The artist should, within reasonable limits, make good use of the studio for the specified period.
- The residency is binding and cancellations must be made no later than 8 weeks before the start date.
- The artist is encouraged to share their process via social media to increase the visibility of the program.
- København Danser Studios is not a producion house, and we expect you to be able to manage your own project.
- The artist is expected to participate in an evaluation of the residency.
- In the application you should indicate which weeks you are interested in, as well as the need for studio size (small, medium, large).
We assess the applications based on the following criteria:
- The current feasibility of the project (Is the applicant in a good place with the project, either thematically or in terms of support/strategy).
- The project's need for studio space (Will the studio space make a real difference in making the project happen, or play a significant part in relation to the project's development).
- Commitment to high-quality artistic expression and research, as well as diversity and inclusion across genres, ages, and genders.
København Danser Studios are open to receiving applications from international artists, however we cannot support travel, visa or accommodation costs. Applicants not based in Denmark should be able to cover all costs for all artists taking part in the residency.

Week 33 - 34 - 35 (August 10 - August 28)
