We will require all groups to send a list of their students First and Last names and grade level by October 25th. If you need more time, please let us know! We want as many students to benefit at possible.
Note: In addition to 11th and 12th graders who are the priority. We encourage school and program staff to be open minded to even 9th and 10th grade students attending. It is our belief that schools and programs can also use this event to expose younger students to college, develop their interviewing and networking skills, and inform them about programs that they may enroll in later.
Preparation: There will be directors from HEOP and EOP Programs from around NYS! Share with your students info about HEOP and EOP as well as interview skills tips/practice and networking tips if possible. Generate excitement and encouragement that these programs are NOT for straight A students. HEOP and EOP are looking for students who may not qualify for admissions but who show potential to excel in higher education. The programs help to reduce or even cover full tuition in some cases for our students and give them a chance to attend a 2 or 4 year college with a support system that is critical to their success.
Dress Code: Students should be encouraged to dress their best for this event! Safe, closed toed shoes are encouraged.
