Linguistics for Language Learning Workshop

Our ScibbLING workshop series is designed to deliver a large amount of data on writing systems, and the tools to deal with it. This installment will survey Hangeul (the script designed as a perfect fit for the Korean language) as well as Kana (the twin phonetic scripts of Japanese), and to provide a framework for understanding the writing system of Chinese, the most complex script currently in widespread use. Participants will get hands-on knowledge of these scripts and all levels are welcome! No knowledge of any of these target languages is required.
