  • Please find below a list of equipment needed for the class.

    Required equipment to participate in class include:

    • Short track speed skates
    • Helmet (no protrusions and large holes)
    • Cut-resistant gloves
    • Cut-resistant neck guard

    Prices may vary from time to time depending on exchange rates and supplier costs. We will offer free shipping where possible if we are able to order in bulk. In cases when we are unable to order in bulk we will notify you of any additional shipping charges. It takes approximately 3 weeks for equipment ordering (shipment + equipment installation and sharpening) so please order in advance.

    You may choose to buy equipment from other speed skating equipment vendors (overseas or mainland websites) that meets the requirements on your own should you wish. However, if the blade quality is not good, we may not be able to offer blade sharpening service.

    In case the ordered equipment does not arrive before the start of class, students may borrow equipment (short track speed skates, helmet and gloves) from Hong Kong Skating School or figure skates from the ice rink as a temporary solution. Ordered equipment will be passed to students at class.

    Students will be in charge of their own equipment maintenance including regular sharpening of skating blades. You can find the Blade Sharpening Service form here and contact Hong Kong Skating School for arrangement.
