  • CLIENT ENGAGEMENT AGREEMENT

    Thank you for choosing TaxHaus Financial for your tax preparation needs. Please review the following terms carefully.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    You will provide all necessary documentation for tax return preparation. While we retain scanned copies for three years, you must maintain all original documents, receipts, cancelled checks, and records supporting income, deductions, and credits for at least five years after filing. These records are essential if the IRS or state authorities examine your returns.

    OUR SERVICES & LIMITATIONS

    We prepare returns based solely on information you provide and cannot detect errors, irregularities, or fraud in your documents. We will use professional judgment on unclear tax matters and take reasonable positions in your favor unless you instruct otherwise. However, we cannot guarantee that tax positions won't be challenged or predict audit outcomes.

    This engagement covers income tax preparation only. Unless separately agreed in writing, we do not handle payroll tax, sales tax, excise tax, property tax, business compliance, healthcare regulations, retirement plan compliance, or licensing matters.

    FEES & PAYMENT

    Fees are based on time and complexity. Payment is due upon completion, before we release your returns. If legal action is needed to collect unpaid fees, you may be responsible for our legal costs. We'll provide fee estimates when possible and notify you of significant changes.

    If you terminate services before completion, you remain responsible for work performed and expenses incurred, including consultations, advisory services, and representation work.

    REVIEW & FILING

    After payment, we'll provide completed returns and e-file authorization forms. Review everything carefully and notify us immediately of any concerns. We cannot transmit returns without your signed authorization. If e-filing is unavailable, we'll provide paper copies for mailing.

    CORRESPONDENCE & AUDIT SUPPORT

    Your tax preparation fee includes 120 minutes of correspondence assistance per tax year, plus a $50 handling fee per matter. Additional time is billed at $150/hour. If correspondence results from our error, no charges apply.

    Audit/examination representation is a separate engagement not included in preparation fees. Optional Audit Maintenance Protection is available for $49.99.

    PRIVACY & SECURITY

    We safeguard your information and never sell or disclose it externally. By signing, you consent to limited internal use for non-tax purposes (newsletters, holiday cards, birthday greetings).

    To prevent identity theft, we may require government-issued photo ID, Social Security cards, birth certificates, or immigration documents for you and anyone listed on your returns.

    By providing your tax information and checking the box below, you agree to these terms.
