The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame's Annual Student Jazz Band Festival brings together hundreds of young musicians to celebrate America's original art form, jazz.
Festival registration is free, and each participating band will receive an audio recording of its performance, adjudicators' comments, and a commemorative trophy.
Though all bands are honored, special awards for “Band of Distinction” and “Outstanding Soloist” are made in each of the school division categories.
Festival founder, educator and musician Dr. Frank E. Adams Sr., believed in the power of jazz to build bridges between communities, and he dedicated his life to keeping the art form alive. Jazz will persist, only if we continue to play. Help us inspire the next generation of musicians.
