    Where Retail members get to know our Associate members
  • We are delighted to feature our Associate Member businesses in our monthly Member Spotlight! 

    When retailers are evaluating a new product or brand to bring into their stores or a new service provider to work with, they often want to learn about the company producing the product or brand and this is where we can help.

    Our Member Spotlight is a dedicated email that goes out on the 1st of each month and features one or two associate members in non-competing categories. The goal is to help retail members get to know your business and brands and how you connect with and support the independent pet retail channel. You may highlight products or brands and include a member-only promotion, but this is primarily a way for members to get to know you.

  • Please review the following guidelines for our published Member Spotlight and upload content where indicated in this form.

  • Guidelines:

    Help retailers get to know you by addressing some or all of the following questions: 

    • When did you begin your business (how long have you been in business)?
    • What brought you into your business or the pet channel in general?
    • What are your company's guiding principles (mission, values)?
    • How do you support the independent / neighborhood pet channel?
    • Do you have a MAP/IMAP pricing policy and how do you manage violations?

    You may highlight a brand or product and offer a promo, but this is primarily a "get to know you" piece. 

    Please try to keep your content (in total) to 300-500 words and upload in an editable format (e.g., Word). Include one or two high quality photos and a high resolution image of your logo - preferably in separate files (i.e., do not embed them in your Word doc.)

    We may edit your content to fit into the allocated space and will provide you with a review copy before publication.

  • In January, we expanded the Spotlight to include an optional virtual session called Spotlight-Interactive - an informal chat session via Zoom to help retailers learn more about your company and brand in a conversational format. While this seemed like a good idea, it has been a challenge getting retailers to sign up and we are discontinuing Spotlight Interactive. 

  • Thanks for considering a Spotlight Interactive as a follow-up to your published Spotlight! We'll check in with you when we confirm your Spotlight publication date.

  • The Spotlight Interactive session is optional but it is a great way for more one-on-one interaction between you and a small group of retailers who sign up to participate.

    IndiePet will schedule and host the Spotlight Interactive sessions.

    Associates may use the time in any way they wish but we highly encourage a short presentation with plenty of time for Q&A or other interaction.

    Sessions will be scheduled for 30 minutes on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for the 3rd week of the same month in which the member is Spotlighted.

    Sessions will be held if at least five retailers sign up to attend. If fewer sign up and you still want to hold the session, let us know.

    IndiePet will reach out to schedule your Interactive session when your published Spotlight is confirmed.
