Completing this application is a step in the process of acquiring a puppy from Grimmet German Wirehaired Pointers, but it does not guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.
APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: I will review applications within 2 business days of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, I'll notify you. We breed infrequently, so we will only accept deposits when puppies are expected or actually available. During pregnancy, approved homes will receive information on how to make a nominal commitment deposit on a puppy, and information will be sent out in the order approved applications were received. Please make this deposit within 48 hours of the approval e-mail. If you make a deposit, you are committing to take a puppy from the litter, and you understand that the deposit is non-refundable.
YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in deposit order by the first or second preference of the depositor as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices are available, you may elect another puppy from the litter. We try our best to match the perfect puppy for the perfect home. We will evaluate temperament and natural ability and then give you the option of picking the puppy that best suits your needs.
GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age.
CONTRACT: We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.
SPAY/NEUTER: We require spay/neuter at or before 24 months for puppies we sell limited registration on. If you have a written note from your vet stating health concerns, time can be extended to 36 months of age. You may not breed your dog before it is altered. We reserve the right to take appropriate legal action if this contract is broken.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our puppies our sold with limited registration. We rarely make exceptions to this rule, and unless prior arrangements have been made your puppy will not have full registration.
RETURN POLICY: We stand by the quality of our dogs. We offer a one-year health guarantee. If for any reason your puppy experiences genetic health defects in the first 12 months, a full money back guarantee or replacement puppy (depending on the situation) will be offered at the breeder's discretion. You must have a written statement describing the defects, from two veterinarians who practice in different clinics, before a refund or replacement will be granted. The defect must be proven to be genetic. We do not guarantee the temperament or the natural traits of any of our puppies as they are often molded by their environment. We do our best to offer the public puppies with sweet dispositions and great abilities but we can not guarantee this. If for any reason your puppy does not fit in with your family in the first six months, we will take the puppy back and arrangements may be made (depending on circumstances) for a replacement puppy from the same parents. If for any reason, during the duration of your dog's life, you must rehome your dog we are to be contacted. We reserve the right to screen any home prior to placing the puppy/dog. You are prohibited from rehoming the puppy without our consent. You agree to never place this puppy in an animal shelter or humane society. If you decide to euthanize this dog for any reason other than severe health concerns, we are to be notified in advance and allowed to participate in the decision-making process.
