Booking Conditions for Prathana Sabha Facility
Shree Lohana Mahajan are able to offer the facility of our Tilda Hall, for hosting a Prathana Sabha, to families who have suffered a recent bereavement.
The minimum donation is £151 to cover the cost towards Caretaking Staff, Heat & Light, Set Up & Cleaning.
Terms & Conditions
1) The normal times for the Tilda Hall to be available for Prathanas is:
Mondays 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Tuesdays 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Wednesday 8.45pm to 9.45pm (Term Time)
Thursdays 8.45pm to 9.45pm (Term Time)
Friday 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Saturday/Sundays – 4.00pm to 8.00pm can be booked for up to 1-hour subject to availability
2) Prathana Bookings are available for a maximum of 60 Minutes.
The usual format is to allow 45 minutes for Prathana Bhajans and a maximum of 15 minutes for family Condolences & Speeches.
After 60 Minutes, the family will be requested to line up for Jai Shree Krishna greetings as the attendees depart.
Any additional time over 60 minutes, is chargeable at £201 / Hour.
If you are inviting your own Bhajan Mandal to perform, please ensure they adhere strictly to the timings
3) The Maximum Seated capacity in the Tilda Hall is 440, and additional 30 members are permitted in the gallery and a further 30 can be accommodated in the upstairs canteen.
These are the maximum numbers permitted in the venue for health & safety and fire evacuation reasons. There is NO STANDING permitted in the hall.
As soon as attendees exceed 500 upstairs, the remaining will be accommodated in the downstairs kitchens with the ability to view via Television Screens.
4) Our volunteers will assist and provide guidance with seating arrangements & general crowd control. Please follow their instructions and cooperate with them to ensure a smooth & safe Prathana.
Please note, we will not tolerate any verbal abuse or rage towards our volunteers or committee members. We do always welcome constructive feedback via bereavements@lohanaleicester.org.uk
The immediate family will be seated on the first row, accommodating 22 seats.
Please ensure you have advised beforehand those who are to be seated on the first row.
5) Prathana Format
Dhoon will be played whilst attendees are seated
Welcome & Commence with Hanuman Chalisa
Approx. 6 Bhajans to be performed
Conclude Bhajans with “Abh Saup Diya” & Anjali Geet.
Maximum 15 minutes for Family Condolences & Speeches
Dhoon will be played whilst attendees depart
6) Dining Facility
We are able to offer our facilities for dining arrangements:
(i) Khichdi Chaas after the Funeral
(ii) Meal after the "Barmu / Termu" ceremony.
