Course Description:

Dental hygiene is evolving, and so are the opportunities available to clinicians. This 90-minute webinar empowers dental hygienists to discover new avenues of professional growth, build a credible presence beyond the operatory, and leverage their unique strengths in today’s changing industry. Participants will explore career expansion pathways, personal branding strategies, and practical steps for becoming visible, valued, and influential—without sacrificing authenticity.
Learning Objectives:

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify at least five viable career pathways for dental hygienists outside traditional clinical practice.
2. Explain the foundational elements of a professional brand for healthcare providers.
3. Evaluate their personal strengths, values, and niche to determine growth opportunities.
4. Describe actionable steps to gain visibility through writing, speaking, advocacy, or industry partnerships.
5. List three strategies for expanding influence while maintaining authenticity and ethical standards.
Speaker Bio:

Bethany Montoya, MBA, BAS, RDH, is a dental hygienist, educator, industry key opinion leader, editorial director of DentistryIQ’s Clinical Insights newsletter, and Director of Lone Star Dental Hygiene Society. She has a passion for advancing modern disease prevention. She specializes in exploring the intersection of clinical practice, professional growth, and innovation within oral health care. Through her writing, she aims to educate, inspire, and spark meaningful dialogue in the dental community.
