Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Training

8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Fuller Lodge Arts Council Center

(2123 Central Avenue - meeting space is above the Gallery)

Lunch, light snacks, and refreshments will be provided.
Participants will leave the training with a better understanding of mental illness and skills/tools to assist youth. Topics will include:
- The purpose of YMHFA and the role of the First Aider.
- Recognizing the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges that may impact youth.
- The impact of traumatic experiences and the role of resilience in adolescent development.
- A 5-step action plan to assist youth in crisis and non-crisis scenarios.
- Appropriate methods for self-care.
The training is interactive and includes large and small group activities that will keep you engaged and excited about learning how to be a Youth Mental Health First Aider.

Those with mobility needs cannot be accommodated for this training but we can include you in a future training.
