With Art in Bloom relocating to Pear Blossom Park, Main Street businesses have a valuable opportunity to maintain strong foot traffic and visibility during the festival weekend. We propose organizing a Main Street Sidewalk Sale to complement Art in Bloom and encourage festival-goers to explore and support Downtown Medford's vibrant local shops, restaurants, and services.
Details
When: Same weekend as Art in Bloom (May 10–11, 2025)
Where: Sidewalks along Main Street and nearby participating blocks
Who: Open to all Main Street businesses interested in participating
What: Businesses can set up tables, displays, product samples, special offers, and mini-activities outside their storefronts to engage visitors and drive sales.
Important Guidelines
- Setups must not block sidewalks or impede pedestrian traffic.
- All displays must maintain clear, accessible walkways at all times, in compliance with City of Medford regulations.
- Businesses are responsible for managing their own setup and ensuring safety and accessibility standards are met.
Organization
- Businesses will self-organize their displays and promotions, creating a lively, festive atmosphere along Main Street.
- The Downtown Medford Association (DMA) will support the event by promoting the Sidewalk Sale through social media, newsletters, and their website, alongside Art in Bloom promotions.
- Participating businesses are encouraged to cross-promote the event on their own channels and collaborate with neighboring businesses to maximize exposure.
- Draw festival-goers from Pear Blossom Park into Downtown Medford's Main Street district.
- Boost sales, visibility, and brand awareness for downtown businesses.
- Strengthen the connection between Art in Bloom and Downtown Medford for future festival weekends.
