Extension Care Sheet
Dos:
Brush your hair with a specific boar bristle brush before shampooing to prevent tangles. Hold the hair with one hand while detangling to avoid pressure on extensions or natural hair.
Use sulfate-free, protein-free shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave-in treatment for hair extension longevity. Shampoo hair vertically, not horizontally or in circular motions, to reduce tangles. Apply conditioner from mid-shaft to ends, avoiding the roots.
Apply leave-in conditioner to the ends to maintain a silky texture.
Brush your hair at least twice a day to prevent matting. Consider professional conditioning treatments and blowouts between maintenance sessions.
Tie your hair into a loose side ponytail, high bun or braid when sleeping or during activities.
Avoid tight updos or ponytails immediately after extension application.
Tie your hair in a ponytail or braid and apply leave-in conditioner before swimming.
Shampoo and detangle immediately after swimming.
Cover your hair when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Don'ts:
Avoid washing your hair for 48 hours after the extension application.
Do not sleep with wet hair.
Avoid massaging the scalp while shampooing.
Do not apply oils, alcohol, or ethanol to the bond/tape area.
Do not attempt to remove hair extensions yourself; contact your salon professional.
Do not leave your hair wet for extended periods without detangling to prevent matting.
Avoid contact between hair extensions and bronzer, tanning oils, sunscreen, or tinted products, especially if you have blonde hair, to prevent color changes.
Follow all home maintenance routines as directed. If challenges arise, contact the salon immediately.
Schedule your re-application appointment ahead of time to prevent painful matting in the regrowth area.
When scheduling a re-application, book a consultation to assess if new hair or adjustments are needed for your extensions.
