  • Registrations required:

    *the link will be sent out by OLL prior to the spring sports season

    • NO Warrior Fee is charged through Family ID.  It is included in the Lourdes Crew registration fee.
    • Submit any required medical forms

    USRowing Association.
     See instructions below.

    • Sign in to the USRA portal at https://membership.usrowing.org
    • On the "Join USRowing" screen click on "join" under the "Individuals" box
    • On the next screen, Enter information in the appropriate boxes.  In the "Club or Team Name" box, type "OLL" and select "Lourdes Rowing Association - Our Lady of Lourdes".  A dropdown "Club Code Verification" box will appear.  Type in our club code: VLH66, and then click on "Submit Code".  Now click on the "Search" button.  If you are under 18 years of age, a "Parental Consent" dropdown box will appear.  Your parent or guardian must click on yes in this box.
    • The "Membership Levels" box will appear.  Select "Basic Membership" and then click the "submit" button.
    • A "Member Editor" screen will appear.  Fill in the appropriate information and then click the "submit" button.  If you are under 18 years of age, the "Parental Consent" dropdown box will apear again.  Your parent or guardian must click on yes in this box.
    • The "Member Waiver" screen will appear.  Fill in your parents/guardian name in the appropriate box, check the "I understand and agree to the terms of the wiver" box and then click the "submit" button.
    • The "Anti-Doping Compliance" screen will appear.  Check "NO" then click the "Submit" button.
    • The "Payment" screen will appear.  Fill in the appropriate information for paymnet and then click the "Submit" button.
    • The "Confirmation" screen will appear.  Print this screen or save a copy of the confirmation e-mail and forward to lourdesrowing@gmail.com
    • Register/Renew for Basic Individual Membership - Fee $25

     

    Important Dates:

    Swim Test - scheduled on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at 3:00 All Sport Fishkill

    • OLL Family ID and Lourdes Crew registrations required
    • Required for ALL members of the crew team (novice/returnees)
    • Please prepare to arrange for personal transportation

    Logistics:

    • The scholastic sports season ends in June.  The 2023 goal for Lourdes Crew is to get everyone on the team trained, skilled, and get as much time in boats on the water!
    • Coaches make all final decisions on which regattas to attend (if any), and seat assignments in boats.
    • If the coaches have chosen rowers to race at an away regatta, logistic details will be communicated at that time.  
    • Training will be held at Hudson River Rowing Association (HRRA) premises. The “Boathouse” is located at: 272 N. Water Street in Poughkeepsie
    • The coaches will coordinate training times for Novices and JV/Varsity rowers separately.  Generally, JV/Varsity rowers train in the mornings (before school hours) - carpool can be arranged and Novices train in the afternoons (after school hours).  Expect training to be scheduled possibly on Saturdays as well. 
    • Lourdes Rowing has a Facebook page www.facebook.com/LourdesRowing/ where information will be posted, as well as the school website. Important updates and changes will be sent out via email.   

    Uniforms: measurements will be taken in January for unis, t-shirt orders for novice rowers will be placed in March.

    2023 Lourdes Crew Fees:

    • First Year Rower/Novice: $700
    • Returning Rowers/Varsity: $1100, which includes a new 2-piece uni
      • $1000 if you do not want a new 2-piece uni

    About Lourdes Crew and the Lourdes Rowing Association, Inc.

    The Lourdes Crew Team is officially sanctioned by the school, but is not fully financially supported by them.  The team receives a stipend from the school (less than 10% of the operating budget) but the rest of the cost must be covered by registration fees collected from the Athletes and fundraising activity by the Lourdes Rowing Association. Running a crew team is expensive.  Operational budget must cover Boathouse Use and Equipment Lease Fees, Insurance (Liability, Equipment), Coaching Stipends, Regatta Memberships and Race Entry Fees, Equipment Operation costs and repairs.

     

    Payment Information:

    • $200.00 deposit is due with completed registration submission.
    • We are offering a 3-month payment plan beginning this January, if you have any questions you may contact the LRA President at lourdesrowing@gmail.com
    • Remaining balance for all athletes must be paid by March 1, 2023.  Any athlete who is not paid in full by this date will not be allowed on the water until their account is fully paid. If there are circumstances that preclude meeting timely payment, please contact the LRA President before February 15, 2023.
    • Deposit and fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after March 1, 2023.

    I grant to Lourdes Rowing Association and its representatives the right to take photographs of my child (named above) in connection with the above-identified subject.  I authorize Lourdes Rowing Association, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically.

     

    I agree that Lourdes Rowing Association may use such photographs of my child (named above) with or without his/her name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.

    I agree that by allowing my child to participate as a member of the Lourdes Crew Team, I will submit the applicable First Year/Novice or Returning Rower/Varsity fee.

    Because LRA depends on fundraising and registration fees to fund all expenses, I acknowledge that I may be responsible for additional regatta and/or hotel fees should the club not have enough funds.

    The following behavior standards will be observed by each student, parent, and coach in order to promote a well-disciplined, cohesive, organization

    • Respect all persons and property
    • Refrain from insults; "put-downs"; and ethnic, sexual, or culturally inappropriate comments
    • Be polite to everyone on your team and those on other teams
    • Be supportive to all members of every team (i.e. Varsity and Novice)
    • Refrain from inappropriate public display of affection
    • Adhere to specific rules established by the coaches: These rules should be put in writing, posted in the boathouse, and provided to chaperones.  Should there be any behavioral issues that are of concern, please direct them to the coaches and the LRA Board.
    • Investigated decisions will be reviewed with the student and their parent/guardian
    • Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times

     

    AT REGATTAS:

    • All behavioral rules apply.
    • Parents/Chaperones have the responsibility to ensure all athletes are accounted for at all times.  
    • If your child is unaccompanied, please communicate with the champerones regarding arrangements such as trasnportation, food, expenses and etc.
    • Everyone is expected to help in group activites such as set-up and break-down
    • Everyone is expected to follow the protocols identified by OLLCHS, Lourdes Rowing Association, Inc., the coaches, regatta officials, and chaperones.
    • Non-negotiable Items: NO possesions or use of alcohol, marijuana or other illegal drugs.  NO abuse of legal or prescription drugs.  NO sexual intimacy or sexual harassment.  NO possession of weapons.  Any violation of one of these items at a regatta, behavior that is disruptive to the team, or behavior that threatens the safety of self or others, will result in the offending athlete(s) being sent home immediately at the parents' expense.  In signing this form, the parents agree to cover all expenses related to sending their athlete home.

  • HUDSON RIVER ROWING ASSOCIATION, INC. WAIVER

    IN CONSIDERATION of being given the opportunity to participate in any  Hudson River Rowing Association("Club") activities ("Activity") until the end of this calendar year, I, for myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin: 


    1. ACKNOWLEDGE, agree and represent that I understand the nature of Rowing Activities, both on water and land based, and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity.

     

    2. FULLY UNDERSTAND that: (a.); ROWING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death ("Risks"); (b.) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the Activity, the condition in which the Activity takes palace, or the negligence of the Releases names below; (c.); there may be other risks and social and economic losses either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I incur as a result of my participation in the Activity.

     

    3. AGREE AND WARRANT that I will examine and inspect each Activity in which I take part as a member of the Club and that, if I observe any condition which I consider to be unacceptably hazardous or dangerous, I will notify the proper authority in charge of the Activity and will refuse to take part in the Activity until the condition has been corrected to my satisfaction.

     

    4. HEREBY RELEASE, discharge, and covenant not to sue USRowing, the Club, Hudson River Rowing Association, Inc., Vassar College, Marist College, Spackenkill Union Free School District, Spackenkill Rowing Club, City of Poughkeepsie School District, Poughkeepsie High School Crew Parents Association, Arlington Central School District, Arlington Rowing Association, Hyde Park School District, Hyde Park Rowing Association, Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Lourdes Rowing Association, City of Poughkeepsie, Town of Poughkeepsie, Row As One Institute, Inc. their administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers and employees, any participating regatta organizers, any sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises, on which the Activity takes place, (each considered one of the Releasees herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses or damages on my account caused or allege to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations; and I further agree that if, despite this release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS each of the Releasees, from any litigation’s expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as a result of such claim. 

     

     

  • I have read this agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.

    AND I, the minor's parent and/or legal guardian, understand the nature of rowing activities and the minor's experience and capabilities and believe the minor to be qualified in such activity.  I hereby relase, discharge, covenant not to sue, and AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS each of the Releasees from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on the minor's account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or part by the operations, and further agree that if, despite this release, I, the minor, or anyone on the minor's behalf makes a claim against any of the above Releases, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS each of the Releases from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss liability, damage, or cost any may incur as the result of any such claim.
