  • PRICING:

Tomato Plants are $8 each and the more rare varieties $10 because the seeds were $$.  The plants come in extra deep pots (3.5 x 3.5 x 5" deep) which encourages deeper and more prolific root growth and a better start to your plants.

These plants are grown from seed and are given the absolute best of everything from day one. Grown in organic soils and fed organic fertilizers and natural concoctions, most of which have been made here by me.

    FERTILIZER:

For the past few years I have been studying and implementing Jadam Organic Farming methods in my seed starting and gardening endeavors.  This year I made my own fish fertilizers and compost tea to give your seedlings and plants a great boost and start to life. If you have never heard of Jadam, check it out!! This method is a low cost, Do-It-Yourself way of making fertilizers, natural pesticides and so many other garden inputs. I like to call it Nature Farming!

Check out Nate at the Garden Like A Viking YouTube channel for sooo many Jadam recipes and gardening knowledge https://www.youtube.com/@gardenlikeaviking/videos and here is a link to the Jadam website: https://en.jadam.kr/

For those of you who do not want to make your own fertilizers (haaa...most of you I'm sure) here are links to some good fertilizers that I use:  https://www.espoma.com/product/plant-tone/  https://www.pennington.com/all-products/fertilizer/alaska-fish-fertilizer

Almost all heirloom and open-pollinated tomato varieties are INDETERMINATE...meaning they get VERY, VERY TALL and will need to be staked and tied up as they grow. One advantage of this is that they continue to produce tomatoes all summer long, right up until our last frost date. A disadvantage is that it takes a bit more work. The reward of these tomatoes though is all worth it!! I use cattle panels, t-posts and tomato clips now. Trying out the string method this year.

PRUNING your indeterminate tomato plants is very important. This keeps air flowing to keep disease and pests down, and production up. Take all leaves off the bottom foot or so of the plant and thin leaves throughout plant if they are too crowded. I grow intensively, which means I space plants closer than the general recommendations, so I prune fairly aggressively. Use your instincts here. Here is a great article with diagrams to show you exactly how and where to prune.

Tomatoes are VERY, VERY HUNGRY plants. When I plant my tomatoes in the ground I add, at the very least, Espoma Plant Tone to the hole, mix it into the dirt then plant my tomato. Feed regularly throughout the season, every 3-4 weeks, with a fish fertilizer like the Alaska brand or one of your homemade Jadam fertilizers. Here is a good link on the basics of organic fertilizers.

When PLANTING, dig the deepest hole that you can, cut all leaves off up to the top 4 leaves and bury the stem all the way up to the bottom of your top leaves. Tomatoes get new roots all along the stem which makes for a healthier, more robust plant. If your soil is less than ideal, you can lay your plant into the ground lengthwise and cover all of the root ball and stem with soil leaving only the top 4 leaves sticking out of the ground.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS WHEN GROWING IN POTS:

When growing tomatoes in POTS there are several factors to keep in mind:

#1--Make sure you use a large enough pot (at least 5 gallon but a bit bigger is better).

#2--Use a quality potting soil. You can add some topsoil or native soil from your property as well, but including a good potting will help ensure that your plants will receive adequate drainage and a head start on nutrition. Many potting soils have some amendments included in the mix. I prefer the Coast of Maine "Raised Bed" or "Seed Starting" products. Organic and amended with some wonderful ingredients like compost, lobster meal, kelp meal, worm castings and mycorrhizae (a fungus that works to form a symbiotic relationship with the roots of the plants and helps facilitate the uptake of nutrients).

#3--Tomatoes are very, very hungry plants so you need to fertilize OFTEN and add some slow release fertilizer to the soil in your pots.

#4--Water! Water! Water!...pots dry out more quickly than garden soil and it is important to keep the moisture level even for beautiful tomatoes. I add a product called "Soil Moist" to all of my planting containers...I call it "baby diaper goo", haha. It's a granular product that sucks up water and holds it to slow release as the plant starts to dry out. It cuts the time between watering down and will protect your plants from experiencing drought like conditions, which they do not like, especially when in containers.

SOFIA'S SWEET CARMEL. A VERY RARE variety!! There are only a limited number of these plants. "A stunning variety that yields an abundance of large, heart-shaped fruits. These unique tomatoes are a visual feast, boasting rich golden-raspberry tones and deep purple shoulders. They thrive on tall, lengthy vines and are known for their incredibly beautiful appearance, as well as their sweet, rich flavor profile. The plants exhibit the classic oxheart type's droopy leaf habit and flexible stems, so providing good supports is essential to manage their generous production." 85 days to maturity Oxheart Bred by: The Talented Sophia Saakova

SOFIA'S GINGER COMET. One of the incredibly rare varieties I am offering this season. Plants will be limited. "Wildly heavy production, massive fruits, psychedelic colors, mango texture, and rich sweet flavor with a beautiful touch of acidity. These are oxheart vines which can be finicky to grow if unfamiliar. They have a droopy leaf habit, lengthy vines and get incredible tall with huge clusters of fruit- strong support systems are necessary for a successful season." 80 days to maturity Breeder: The Talented Sofia Saakova *Description from seller's site

BLACK PINEAPPLE or "ANANAS NOIRE". A most exciting new tomato, it is wonderful in every way. This unusual variety was developed by Pascal Moreau, a horticulturist from Belgium. The multi-colored, smooth fruit (green, yellow and purple mix) weighs about 1½ lbs. The flesh is bright green with deep red streaks. Everyone loves its superb flavor that is outstanding, being both sweet and smoky with a hint of citrus. The yield is one of the heaviest some have ever seen! Be the first to have this new classic.

PINK BERKELEY TIE DYE. Red wine colored with metallic green stripes. Fun tomato to grow and some “say” they like it better than Cherokee Purple. I love them all the same…but that’s just me 😊 Being an early tomato, ripe in as little as 65 days, is an added perk as some of these heirlooms take what seems like forever to ripen!

BERKELEY TIE DYE "GREEN". A "new to me" Berkeley Tie Dye variety!! I am super excited to grow this green and see how all of these Tie Dye varieties compare to each other, as they are an incredibly prolific tomato. This colorful and delicious large fruit runs 8 to 16 ounces. Exterior color is green with stripes in red and yellow and the flesh is truly tri-color! Each of these colors has a different flavor resulting in a spicy, sweet, tart tomato with good acid all in one fruit. Discovered in a planting of Beauty King. A new favorite of many chefs.

SGT. PEPPERS. One I have been seeing all over international tomato FB groups. Of course we had to have it! "The crowned queen of the tomato garden. Stunningly beautiful in every way. These glorious plants are loaded with large, oxheart fruits, season after season. They start with deep purple shoulders and a light violet base, than ripen to a stunning black and deep pink color combination. Don’t let the droopy habit of these thin vines fool you. With good support, these plants can out-produce almost any other variety in the garden. Extremely meaty, with delectable flavor that is rich, sweet and very well balanced. Hard not to call this my number one… don’t tell the others!" Developed by: Jason Haynes *Description from seller's website

SGT. PINEAPPLE. The Sgt. Pineapple is a striking, mid-season indeterminate tomato bred by Sophia Saakova from Russia and one of it's parent plants is Sgt. Peppers, which I am also offering this season. It is prized for its "psychedelic" multicolored appearance and heavy yields. These large, meaty heart-shaped fruits typically weigh between 9oz and 1lb 9 oz and feature a vibrant blend of yellow and orange skin topped with deep purple anthocyanin shoulders. Inside, the bi-colored flesh is dense with few seeds, offering a velvety texture and a complex, tropical flavor profile that balances high sugar content with hints of citrus. Its robust, fruity taste and substantial size make it an excellent choice for thick slices in salads or high-quality canning.

ALICE'S DREAM. 5.0 STAR REVIEW***** on this Alice’s Dream AND one of the Top 10 tomatoes of 2020! I just got it because it looks cool. Reviewers all said it was almost too cool looking to even eat…LOL! I felt that way about Queen of the Night last year.

BLOOD MOON. Blood Moon is a cross of two independently phenomenal Wild Boar Farms varieties: Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye and Blue Beauty. Both of its parents are fan-favorites that excel in all the categories that the tomato connoisseur and casual grower alike prize. The fruit-production is especially excellent, as any growers of its predecessors would expect. The matured tomatoes are generally 8-12 oz. and the fruit are meaty with a rich and sweet flavor. Plants will optimally average between 4-6 ft. once fully mature.

PINEAPPLE. Very large, up to 2 lbs each. One of the most beautiful tomatoes. The color is breathtaking with a red and yellow marbled pattern that reaches all throughout the tomato. Sweet and sour, tastes like a tomato but has pineapple and citrus tones as well. Great old-fashioned full, complex flavors. Delicious! A late season tomato. Plant produces heavy yields. This is one you have to try!!

SOFIA'S BLISS/BLESSING. Sofia’s Bliss/Blessing is a breathtaking Russian heirloom bred by Sofia Saakova. It is highly sought after by collectors for its glowing, "ethereal" appearance and its exceptionally refined, gourmet flavor profile. These mid-season, indeterminate plants produce elegant heart-shaped fruits weighing 6 to 12 ounces, featuring a translucent creamy-pink skin with golden-yellow undertones. The interior is remarkably meaty and nearly seedless, offering a silky, buttery texture and an exceptionally sweet, low-acid taste with aromatic, melon-like notes. Characterized by the "wispy" foliage typical of Saakova’s varieties, it is a reliable producer that excels in fresh applications, such as gourmet salads or simple slicing, where its delicate beauty and tropical fruit-like profile can shine.

BLACK BEAUTY. Boasted as the darkest tomato known...so dark that some of the tomatoes turn solid blue-black on the skin. Beautiful to look at. The flavor of Black Beauty is deep, rich and complex with earthy tones, and is among the best tasting of all tomatoes. Be sure and wait for true ripeness as Black beauty takes a while to ripen but is definitely worth the wait. Has an extreme anthocyanin effect, which is the same antioxidant in blueberries and blackberries.

PINK JAZZ. Legendary tomato breeder Fred Hempel has introduced one of his most stunning varieties yet, the Pink Jazz tomato! This big beefsteak often weighs in at 1 lb each, dripping with sweet, tomato flavor which is also often described as having peach undertones. Pink fruit is tiger striped with light pink yellow.

ORANGE JAZZ. Another offering in the "Jazz" tomato ensemble from Fred Hemple of Artisan Seeds. It's sister, Pink Jazz, performed amazing last year with one of the biggest tomatoes of all the varieties I grew. The fruits were huge and I am sure the Orange Jazz will not disappoint. Sugary sweet and complex flavor with a hint of peach. Large and wildly productive, these plants require staking. Some mention it makes great sauce.

COSTOLUTO FIORENTINO. Costoluto Fiorentino is a traditional Tuscan heirloom prized for its iconic, heavily ribbed shape and deep red, meaty flesh. This vigorous indeterminate variety produces large, 8–16 oz beefsteak tomatoes with a complex, acidic-sweet flavor profile that makes it a favorite for authentic Italian sauces and fresh slicing. Known for its productivity and heat tolerance, the plant requires strong support due to its sprawling growth and heavy yields, typically reaching maturity in about 80 days.

SART ROLOISE. These gorgeous globes have the lustre and stunning color of a stained glass masterpiece. Its beauty is only outmatched by its flavor! The Sart Roloise tomato is bursting with sweet, fruity and complex flavor with just the right acidity, owing its tropical flavor profile to its parentage. It is a cross of the White Wonder tomato, which lends pineapple sweet notes, and the Baby Blue tomato, which explains the deep indigo blue brushstrokes on the shoulders! This variety was bred by Roland Boulanger, Sart Eustache, Belgium. This is a large beefsteak type. The big, beautiful fruit averages 10-20 ounces each, with the most captivating color and sheen, making it a must have for market gardeners, chefs and anyone who loves a gourmet flavored tomato with pizazz.

CHEROKEE PURPLE. Not sure but maybe it's my American Indian heritage that draws me to love the Cherokee varieties so much. Named Cherokee Purple by Craig LeHouiller after he received the seeds from a family who handed them down for 100 years after receiving them from the Cherokee Indians. Very productive plants producing loads of dusky rose to purple colored beefsteak tomatoes with deep red colors to the interior flesh and dark shoulders. A very popular market variety because of it's rich, complex and sweet flavors. One of the best tasting heirloom tomatoes. 12 - 16 ounce fruits.

CHEROKEE GREEN. This is THE tomato that I always impatiently wait to ripen...it is my favorite one! Another variety from heirloom tomato collector Craig LeHoullier who grew out Cherokee Chocolate from another seed saver in 1997. One plant gave him a cross that stayed green when ripe. He then stabilized this seed for Cherokee Green.  Produces big, leafy, regular-leaf plants similar to Cherokee Purple that yields 12-16 oz beefsteak tomatoes that are amber green with a yellowish hue when ripe. This is one of the best tasting, most flavorful of all the green tomatoes.

THORNBURN'S TERRA-COTTA. Incredible flavor, color and history! J. M. Thorburn & Company went bankrupt in 1921, after 119 years in operation, and much of its vast seed library was lost. Fortunately, the terracotta tomato has been recovered from seeds found by the grandson of a Depression-era seed saver. One of the most sensational tomatoes to grow. With honey-brown skin, orange-pink flesh, and green seed mass, this is an eye-catching slicer with an out-of-this-world flavor. The tomato produces heavily during mid-season and then drops off quickly once cool weather sets in. As a cooker it will yield a pumpkin-orange sauce with a floral aroma. A rare treasure and a new must have!

THORBURN'S LEMON BLUSH. I have to say the the Thorburn's Terra-Cotta is in my top 5 so of course we have to try it's fruity and tropical version. A very old heirloom, 107 years old to be exact, we are lucky to even have the opportunity to grow this beauty in our own gardens. A large beefsteak variety, juicy but coreless and firm with very few seeds. Not much like it's Terra-Cotta namesake but I'll be interested to see the differences. The blush depicts the salmon pink tones at the blossom end.

CHOCOLATE STRIPES. ADD THIS ONE TO YOUR ORDER...you won't be disappointed, I promise! It's a huge tomato, lasts forever and is forgivingly easy to grow. If I'm wrong, I owe you a free plant next year! Native to Peru, this dark mahogany red tomato with olive green stripes produces rich, sweet, and earthy fruits. It's slightly metallic shimmer makes it an eye catching addition to the garden. Try this tomato in either a salad or sandwich! This variety does well in any zone.

WHITE SUGAR. I can't wait to make a white tomato sauce!! A high-yielding heirloom prized for its exceptionally sweet, low-acid "candy" flavor and fruity aroma. Produces medium-to-large (4–10 oz) oblate fruits that ripen from a creamy white to a pale yellow, sometimes developing a soft pink blush. Because of its dense, juicy texture and lack of sharpness, it is a favorite for fresh slicing, salads, and unique white sauces. The plants are vigorous, reaching up to 6 feet in height. Typically maturing within 80 to 90 days.

BRANDYWINE-SUDDATH'S STRAIN. Brandywine was the first "not your run of the mill, everyone grows them, regular, round, red tomato" heirloom I heard about. Of course I immediately scooped one up and ran home to plant it. I am pretty sure that since then I have not purchased another Better Boy. That was the beginning of my love and obsession. The story behind this particular Brandywine is that around 1880, Mrs. Sudduth of Tennessee gave seeds said to be in her family for 100 years, to tomato seedsman, Ben Quisenberry of Ohio. Prolific potato leaf plants produce 1-2 lb. large, pink tomatoes. This is believed to be the original Brandywine. Excellent well-balanced, sweet/acid flavors!

BLACK BRANDYWINE. The story of this tomato is a testament to how exciting it can be to save seeds, cross different favorites and share them with friends or the world. I love learning about the stories behind these heirlooms as much as I love starting the seeds, growing them and eating them. "True" Black Brandywine was bred in the 1920s by Dr. Harold E. Martin (1888 -1959), a dentist turned plant breeder from Westown, PA, from a cross between Brandywine and Fejee Improved (a brown beefsteak) tomato. Seeds passed to seed collector, William Woys Weaver, of Pennsylvania by way of his Quaker grandfather, who got them from his friend Dr. Martin, who was said to not be fond of sharing his plant creations. Plants produce good yields of 10-16 ounce purple/black beefsteak tomatoes with rich, earthy complex, tomatoey sweet flavors.

ROSE. This seed came from Dr. Grace Kaiser, a physician in New Holland, PA who was given the seed from one of her Amish patients. A large leafy indeterminate, regular leaf heirloom that produces deep, rose-pink, 3-inch, meaty globes with a taste that rivals those varieties heralded most for their luscious taste. A wonderful tomato for its appearance and luscious, rich, flavors.

WINGO WONDER. A lady on Instagram said..."It tasted like a spicy Bloody Mary with Old Bay!' SOLD!!!! HaHaHa! Plus the purple varieties are my favorite! Black/dark purple fruit with a sweet smoky taste. Meaty center and juicy perimeter. A winner with all who try it. From the Wingo family, received from the post master in Mayfield, Kentucky pre 1910. Original seeds from Kris Hubbard, a huge proponent of keeping these heirloom varieties alive.

BIG RAINBOW. These tomatoes live up to their name! These starts are huge compared to the others. Giant tomatoes weighing regularly over 1lb. and usually surpassing 2lb. when grown properly. Plants are more disease-resistant than other bi-color tomatoes, making these popular for market growers and home gardeners alike. The most noteworthy thing about this variety is that the color continues throughout the entire fruit! Once cut, the fruit is a swirling and tie-dye of orange, yellow, and red. A great all-purpose variety.

BLACKBERRY. A rare, indeterminate heirloom variety originating from Kentucky, known for producing large, 8–16 oz flattened, ribbed beefsteak fruits. These eye-grabbing tomatoes have everything going for them. Exteriors are a lustrous, deep, cocoa-ruby red with deep sea green shoulders. Interior flesh has rings of purple with splashes of magenta. Flavor is sweet and rich. Black tomato from the late John Allen of Cartersville, Kentucky. An excellent tasting tomato. Best in late season.

WHITE TOMESOL. An amazing heirloom that is bursting with fragrance and natural goodness that’s hard to beat. One of the best tomatoes we have tasted, being both sweet and rich. The cream colored fruit is beautiful, smooth and weighs about 8 ounces each. The vines set heavy yields of this rare treasure. It’s sure to become a favorite of gourmet growers.

BLACK FROM TULA. Although this heirloom originated in the Ukraine, it is named after a Russian city for unknown reasons. Deep burgundy/green in color with a flattened globe shape. This variety is grown for slicing with its low acidity and sweetness. Yields tomatoes that can weigh up to 1 lb each! Ideal for juicing or canning. In hotter climates, this variety can have a slightly smoky flavor. Stake for best airflow.

KELLOGG'S BREAKFAST. Sunset magazine named this one of the best heirloom tomatoes. Originally bred by a railroad supervisor in Michigan named Darrell Kellogg. A 1-2 pound, pale to deep orange beefsteak tomato that is thin-skinned, meaty, has few seeds and a fantastic sweet, tangy flavor. Juice and inside flesh have same bright orange color as orange juice. Also a favorite of Dr. Carolyn Male, author of “101 Heirloom Tomatoes.” I know...all I can think of is breakfast cereal too ;)

PAUL ROBESON. When I read that this variety had nearly a cult following among people who live, eat and breath tomatoes, I was all in. One of the varieties I am really excited to taste. Describe as pretty and red wine in color then transitioning into deep-brick as the fruit nears the stem. Rich and complex with a smoky flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. Won "Best of Show" at 2001 and 2002 Carmel TomatoFest tasting. Being Russian in origin this tomato sets fruits at lower temps so if we have a particularly hot summer it may not do as well.

DR. WYCHE'S YELLOW. I brought this one back this year and not sure why I didn't offer it last year. Maybe because this and Kellogg's Breakfast are in competition with each other. I am planting them side by side this year and see who's the winner. The color of the flesh you get from these tomatoes is almost unbelievable. So, so vibrant and a MUST HAVE if you want to make a colorful bruschetta or caprese salad. Touted to be one of the best tasting yellow heirloom tomatoes to be found. Rich and sweet flavor, meaty interior with few seeds. This is a large beefsteak tomato maturing to a golden-yellow/orange with a blemish-free skin.

CARBON. When I heard CARBON was the "NEW" Cherokee Purple it was a MUST HAVE this season. Everyone should be growing Cherokee Purple (and Cherokee Green) EVERY year...and maybe Carbon will make that list, but we shall see! Rich, complex flavors made this variety the winner of heirloom tomato taste tests at Cornell University. 10-14 ounce fruits with dark olive and brown shoulders fading into a dark, brick-red fruit. Carbon seems to be described as “Cherokee Purple 2.0”. Less cracking and cat-facing which produces more marketable fruits. Productive over a longer period of time and excellent yields compared to other heirlooms.

BLISS STREAK. A stunning and RARE tri-color beefsteak bred by Sofia Saakova. Standing out as a more heavily striped variant of the original Bliss tomato. These medium-to-large (7–16 oz) fruits feature a dazzling exterior of green, gold, and red stripes splashed with dark indigo shoulders. When sliced, they reveal a multi-colored interior of green and yellow flesh with vibrant red marbling and a punchy, balanced flavor that is exceptionally sweet and fruity. The vigorous vines are highly productive and prized by collectors for their "magical" appearance and gourmet eating quality.

                  TRUE RED HEIRLOOM SLICERS
BIG MACK. YEAH...I'm really hoping this one is my FAVORITE!!! A heavy-yielding, century-old heirloom from Virginia known as the ultimate "sandwich tomato." This indeterminate, potato-leaf variety produces massive, meaty beefsteaks that typically weigh between 10 and 16 ounces, though they frequently exceed a pound. Offers a classic, "old-fashioned" flavor that perfectly balances sweetness with a slight acidic kick. Because of their significant size and vigorous growth, these mid-season plants require sturdy support but reward gardeners with dense, juicy slices ideal for fresh eating, canning, or sauces.

DOROTHY'S MENNONITE. This one won the poll for BEST TRUE RED HEIRLOOM on my FB page! A standout for its "all-meat" texture and classic heirloom appeal. This indeterminate variety produces large, dense fruits—often weighing between 10 and 25 ounces—that are prized for having very few seeds and almost no gel. The plants are distinctive for their potato-leaf foliage and vigorous growth, typically reaching maturity in about 80 days. Its flavor is a perfect balance of old-fashioned sweetness and mild acidity, making it a premier choice for thick slices on sandwiches or a hearty addition to fresh summer salads.

ITALIAN BEEFSTEAK. I have BIG HOPES for this one!!! An Italian heirloom that produces large, red, 1-2 pound tomatoes. The meaty flesh has an intense, balanced flavor with few seeds. Makes a wonderful addition on sandwiches or served with fresh mozzarella.

BIG DELICIOUS. So I tried "delicious" 2 years ago. Wasn't impressed. But I have a feeling about "BIG DELICIOUS"...has to be amazing!!!! Large fruit with good complex tomato taste. Sweet but strong tomato taste. Solid center and juicy gel ring. Seeds from Larry Phipps, Pike County, Kentucky. Larry forgot where he got the original seeds but has been growing this one for several years. Large plant with great production.

CUOSTRALEE. A French heirloom beefsteak tomato variety introduced to the US in 1992 by Craig LeHoullier (big fan of Craig who has tired endlessly to save heirloom varieties) and Carolyn Male, who obtained the seeds from Norbert Pairerra of Hellimer, France. Known for its large, ribbed, flattened fruits weighing 1 to 3 pounds, it produces deep red, blemish-free tomatoes with a rich, sweet, old-fashioned flavor and dense, meaty flesh. Praised for its disease resistance, crack resistance, and consistent heavy yields. 85 days from transplant (late mid-season).

GERMAN JOHNSON. I trialed this one a couple years ago and was expecting it to be amazing. Was disappointed. It does matter who you get the seeds from and I feel like from just looking at this picture that it's going to be a winner! In fact, I'm excited about all of these REDS, mostly this one, Big Delicious and Big Mack...OR all of them! LOL Very large 1-2 lb fruits are deep pink, very flavorful and nearly crack-free. The plants are very productive; the superb quality fruits are great for farmers' markets or home gardens. Originally grown in West Virginia, this heirloom was one of the parent lines for another cherished heirloom: the legendary Mortgage Lifter. With pinkish-red skin and nearly seedless meaty, mild flesh, the large, lobed fruits weigh ¾-1½ lb. A favorite variety for slicing or canning. The disease-resistant, indeterminate vines thrive in hot, humid areas.

KENTUCKY PLATE. Smooth red beefsteak fruit, 1-1.5 lb each. Excellent taste with a sharp finish & good yield. I compared with 5 strains of Brandywine and found it to be a different tomato. First offered in the Seed Savers 1997 Yearbook by Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois, who received the seed from Ermal N. Kuhns of Anderson, Indiana who got the original seed came from Archie Hook, Elwood, Indiana.

COLUMBUS MISSISSIPPI RED. I literally picked these reds by photo alone but a photo can tell a lot. This one LOOKS so GOOD!! Great little canning tomato. African American variety. Cromwell family, Free men, received from Wallace family (descendent). Settled out in Iron Banks. Columbus, Kentucky. Hickman County, Kentucky. My original seeds from Kris Hubbard.

GRANNY HARRIET'S. On second thought...I probably did not HAVE to order ALLLLL of these red tomatoes!!!! Haaaaa! But this one is for those of you who want that non-seedy, MEATY tomato sandwich tomato! Granny Harriet has grown these tomatoes for more than 80 years!! 1-2 pound fruits!

POOCH'S HELL FOR CERTAIN. If this one didn't have a story I would have had to leave it behind...but of course it does!! Another option for you meaty tomato lovers! Given to Kris Hubbard by a feisty nursing home resident named Pooch Fuqua in Hyden, KY. 1990’s...he was almost 90 years old at the time. He grew up in Hell for Certain, KY, later known as Dryhill, KY. My original seeds from Kris Hubbard.

                  MID-SIZED BEEFSTEAK
XANADU GREEN GODDESS. Variety appeared in 2014, in the garden of Tricia Rosamilia, Pennsylvania, USA. Accidental cross that could involve "Surpriz" and an unidentified "antho" variety. Small-sized fruit most often very round, sometimes "mini" beefsteak with rounded shoulders for the larger ones. Yellowish-green epidermis streaked with darker green, blue shoulders signaling the presence of anthocyanins. Dense and juicy flesh with a delicious and sweet flavor, to be eaten "al dente" quickly loses its taste qualities if too ripe. Vigorous plant with great development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth. Generous mid-season production.

SOLAR VORTEX. **NEW** Brad Gates states, "One of the most amazing varieties we have ever seen and we are excited to share!" and this guy has created some amazing tomatoes! I for one can't wait to grow it... "This semi-heart shaped tomato has anthocyanin shoulders in deep violet/black, cascading into emerald green flames that merge with molten red and gold streaks. Each fruit a vertical bonfire of color on glossy, crack resistant skin. Very meaty interior, absolutely delicious with a medium acid and high sweetness. Beautiful with excellent flavor and production. Excellent post-harvest storage ability with harvested fruits having the ability to stay edible for weeks stored at room temperature." 4-8 oz fruits

POMME D'OR DE SAINT-JEAN-DE-BEAUREGARD. A new variety bred by Bruno Fournier (France), developed through hybridization of the well-known Pink Berkeley Tie Die and Indigo Rose varieties in 2017. This is a mid-season tomato with a medium growth habit, showing stable and high yields across various climatic conditions. Plants reach about 4 feet in open ground, forming strong and robust bushes with good foliage density. The leaves and fruits of this variety are richly colored with anthocyanins — a natural pigment with antioxidant properties that not only gives the tomatoes decorative appeal but also increases their health benefits. The fruits have a dense structure and striking appearance: their skin combines the classic tomato color with purple and red anthocyanin spots. The flesh is thick and intensely red-purple, highlighting the uniqueness and exclusivity of the variety. The flavor is bright and harmonious, with a pleasant sweet and tangy note that is well expressed both fresh and in cooked dishes. The average fruit weight is about 5oz - an optimal size for versatile use: from fresh salads to canning and cooking. The fruits have good shelf life and marketability, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation. Ideal for those who appreciate high-quality yields, original appearance, and rich taste.

AMETHYST JEWEL. A stunning, high-yielding indeterminate heirloom that produces medium-sized pink beefsteaks with deep purple shoulders. Bred by Brad Gates, it matures in 75–90 days and is prized for its dense, meaty texture and sweet, well-balanced fruity flavor. Its vigorous vines are notably resistant to cracking and adaptable to both hot and cool climates, making it a reliable choice for gardeners seeking both beauty and taste.

CHEROKEE ROSE. This one made the list for the above picture…lots of TOMATO GOO or “locular cavities holding gelatinous membranes”...WHAT?? I had to look that up because I figured it had to have an official definition. Well now we know. Other cool features are the unusual matte dusty rose finish and fuzzy skin. A variation of the Cherokee Purple which just might make this tomato my favorite one ever. We shall see. Very productive as well.

LUCID GEM. Famous for winning "sweetest tomato" at the 2017 National Heirloom Expo. An amazing variety and sister to Blue Beauty, both bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms. These medium-sized fruits (4–6 oz) feature a dramatic color palette, ripening from green with purple shoulders to a glowing orange-gold with dark indigo tops. When sliced, the meaty, low-seed flesh reveals a beautiful yellow and red marbled interior with a rich, tropical flavor profile. Good disease resistance for an heirloom, exceptionally heat-tolerant, resistant to cracking, and boasts a remarkable shelf life.

SOLAR FLARE. Medium sized beefsteak type. Meaty and lusciously sweet. Striking red with golden stripes. Mid-season at 75 days. Productive plant with good disease resistance. Described as a workhorse tomato!!

                  SALADETTE/COCKTAIL
BLUE ZEBRA. The long trusses of Blue Zebra will have your garden visitors Oooh-ing and Aww-ing!!! Developed by renowned breeder Tom Wagner as a colorful evolution of the classic Green Zebra. Characterized by is gold-striped skin and deep indigo-to-black shoulders. Growing in huge clusters of 3–5 oz round fruits. It is prized for a unique flavor profile that balances intense sweetness with a zippy, tangy finish. Notably sturdy and disease-resistant, Blue Zebra is a reliable choice for gardeners. Its meaty, juicy interior—ranging from bright green to deep red—makes it a standout for fresh slicing or adding exotic beauty to gourmet salads.

BRAD'S ATOMIC GRAPE. A Favorite tomato! Elongated, large cherries in clusters. The color (and flavor!) is a full-blown assault on the senses—lavender and purple stripes, turning to technicolor olive-green, red, and brown/blue stripes when fully ripe. Really wild! Fruit holds well on the vine or off, making this amazing variety a good candidate for market growers. Olive green interior is blushed with red when dead-ripe. Crack-resistant fruit is extraordinarily sweet! Wispy foliage looks delicate but belies these plants’ rugged constitution and high productivity. This release from Wild Boar Farms won best in show at the 2017 National Heirloom Expo! These range some in size from a large grape to plum-sized. AMAZING!

ATOMIC FUSION. **NEW** Cannot wait to try this one...I LOVE the regular Brad's Atomic Grape. "This is a larger 2-4 oz. selection and packs all the unbelievably sweet flavor, extended vine hang-time and beyond-generous production of its predecessor into a larger and meatier body. Atomic Fusion is every bit as visually stunning as its smaller counterpart; sporting a range of colors when fully ripened such as green, red and brown. The interior is even beautifully colorful, making it an excellent slicer. The lavender shades on the skin are expressed by sunlight and will give every fruit its own unique essence depending on how exposed it may be. This makes the growing process visually exciting each step of the way and makes for an even more rewarding experience. Indeterminate." *Description from Wild Boar Farms website

QUEEN OF THE NIGHT . A new BLUE VARIETY originating from the Rhine region of Germany. Even the foliage is blue tinged...I cannot wait to see that. When ripe the fruits are orange/red striped and shoulders are covered with traces of indigo becoming especially darker when they have been exposed to sunlight. Boasting a thick and juicy red interior with a rich tomato flavor. Round 3-4 oz. fruits are the perfect size to add to your salads . Indeterminate variety but compact habit reaching around 5 foot tall.

JAUNE FLAMME. A French heirloom tomato…be still my heart!!! Jaune Flamme was originated by Norbert Perreira of Helliner, France. “Yellow Flame” takes on a literal meaning when you see these golf ball size tomatoes, on elongated trusses, appear to glow against the dark green foliage. A coveted secret in market farmers' heirloom mixes. Described as apricot/orange, persimmon and bright orange in color and inside often has a reddish blush in the center. Great for drying due to retaining it’s bright orange color, making your salads pop or creating an amazingly flavored sauce. Some describe it as a grown-up Sungold, the coveted cherry tomato. Very prolific with a sweet, fruity flavor.

PERSUASION. A "wildly productive" modern heirloom that was recently named the 2025 Tomato of the Year. Bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, this variety produces stunning, saladette-sized fruits (2–4 oz) featuring a base of deep rose and gold stripes splashed with heavy indigo-purple shoulders. Beyond its kaleidoscopic beauty, it is prized for a bold, traditional tomato flavor that perfectly balances sweetness with a classic acidic finish. The plants are vigorous and adaptable to various climates, yielding heavy clusters of firm, meaty fruit that boast an exceptionally long shelf life both on the vine and after harvest.

APRICOT ZEBRA. "SWEETEST TOMATO I'VE EVER EATEN" "HEARD THESE WERE AS GOOD AS SUNGOLD" I have been trying to find an heirloom/open pollinated version of the beloved Sungold. Maybe this will be the year. "Stunning, richly tangerine-colored cherries are very unique in appearance, as the lime-green shoulders and extra-fine green striping of the unripe fruit morphs to brilliant yellow at maturity. Firm-fleshed, slightly oblong golf-ball-sized fruit are perfect for salads or snacking. Vigorous, disease-resistant plants are wildly productive. Luscious! One of the best-tasting tomatoes we have tried, being flavorsome and sweet with a wonderful texture." Also check out Indigo Sungold...

GREEN ZEBRA. This fairly recent heirloom was first released in 1986! A popular tomato amongst gourmet chefs, specialty markets, and home gardener. This tomato is sweet, rich and has a tangy flavor to it! This green tomato with bright lime green stripes makes a beautiful addition to any dish. Stripes will turn from white to yellow at full ripeness.

BLACK STRAWBERRY. This outstanding heirloom tomato, named by tomato grower, Gary Ibsen, for Sunset magazine in 2003, is a native to Southern Russia. Huge, red, 4 to 6-inch, meaty, heart-shaped fruits are borne from a big leafy plant with wispy vines. Introduced to the west by Nik Peplenov who immigrated to the US in 1999 and brought with him his favorite heirloom tomato seeds from the Rostov Don region of Russia. They are not only one of the first tomato varieties to produce, but produce fruit well into November (in Oregon and in California). Proven resistant to frost, blossom end rot and cracking. Delicious fruit with huge tomatoey flavors.

JAPANESE BLACK TRIFELE. A prolific Russian heirloom prized for its mahogany-colored, pear-shaped fruits and rich, smoky and incredibly sweet flavor. Has a distinctive potato-leaf foliage and can reach heights of 5 to 7 feet. Producing 4–6 oz fruits that are remarkably resistant to cracking, it is a favorite for both fresh eating and canning. It is well-regarded for its high yield and consistent performance in various weather conditions.

PINK FUZZY BOAR. Is it a peach or a tomato? You know I can't pass up the unusual! From Brad Gates so I'm sure it won't disappoint. An unusual peach-like, velvety skin and striking pink-and-yellow striped pattern with the fuzzy skin disappearing as it ripens. Developed by Wild Boar Farms, this mid-season variety (70–80 days) produces 2–6 oz round fruits that offer a rich, sweet, and fruity flavor balanced by a traditional tomato tang. The plants are exceptionally vigorous and productive, making them a standout choice for gardeners who want a "conversation piece" that also performs reliably in the garden.

EVIL OLIVE . This unusual variety ripens slowly, starting out an olive green and lightening up with orange-ocher streaks when ripe. Evil Olive is insanely productive. They grow in bunches of 7-15 fruits each weighing in at 2-3 ounces. It is also one of the longest keepers! An extremely crunchy tomato, almost a tomatillo type. Perfect in salsas and salsa verde AND to just look cool growing in the garden. I mean, who's with me??

MONEY MAKER. I used to really enjoy a tomato called Fourth of July. It produced sooo many perfect salad sized tomatoes but it is a hybrid. I got this one to see if it would be a good substitute. A classic English heirloom prized for its extreme reliability and classic red, globe-shaped fruits. Produces consistent 4–6 oz tomatoes that are resistant to cracking and perform well even in challenging hot or humid conditions. The vigorous vines can grow up to 8 feet tall and are widely considered the "standard" choice for gardeners seeking a dependable harvest for salads and slicing. While its flavor is a straightforward balance of sweet and tangy, its ability to produce abundantly until the first frost remains its greatest strength.

                  CHERRY/GRAPE
SILVKA GURMAN. A visually enchanting Eastern European heirloom prized for its "fairytale" appearance and exceptional sweetness. Produces high yields of elongated, 2–3 oz plum-shaped fruits that feature a unique metallic sheen and vibrant pink-to-purple coloring. Because the flesh is remarkably dense and meaty with low water content, it is a versatile "all-purpose" tomato, performing just as well in gourmet sauces and canning as it does for fresh snacking. The vigorous plants are notably resilient to disease and weather fluctuations, offering a long shelf life and heavy trusses of crack-resistant fruit. Slivka Gurman means Gourmet Plum.

GOBSTOPPER. Bred by Madeline McKeever in Ireland as a de-hybridized version of the Sungold, the Gobstopper is a vigorous, open-pollinated cherry tomato prized for its unique "neon" appearance and fruity flavor. These 1.5-inch fruits feature a translucent yellow skin that reveals vibrant green flesh inside, offering a sweet yet tangy taste that lingers on the palate. The indeterminate vines are notably productive and split-resistant, yielding heavy clusters of fruit that boast an exceptional shelf life. Because it is a stable, open-pollinated variety, it is a reliable choice for gardeners who wish to save their own seeds for future seasons.

INDIGO GOLD BERRIES. Another choice to replace the famous hybrid, Sungold. This will be a really interesting one to watch ripen!! A prolific, open-pollinated cherry tomato bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, prized for its "sugar-sweet" flavor and striking appearance. Produces high yields of small fruits (1/2 to 3/4 oz) that transition from an amethyst purple to a glowing golden-yellow with dark indigo shoulders. Beyond its beauty, it is highly valued for its crack resistance and a unique yellow "star" pattern revealed under the stem when picked. Its rich, fruity flavor and heavy production make it a gourmet favorite for fresh snacking and vibrant salads.

CHEROKEE PURPLE CHERRY. I'M SOOO EXCITED FOR THIS TOMATO!!!!! And I have not seen this anywhere! I got these seeds (and all of the red beefsteaks I got for us this year) from Jim Wyant, a collector and preserver of Kentucky and Appalachian Heirlooms. This cherry tomato was found in a field of Cherokee purple plants, one of 1000, by Clifton Hedrick in his Garden. A very beautiful and super tasty "sport" (an accidental version of the original) of Cherokee Purple Tomato. Small, cherry sized fruit, but in your mouth – a huge explosion of best tomato taste, similar to big fruited Cherokee Purple tomato. Strong and very disease resistant, indeterminate plants gives a very good yield of round, dark purple tomatoes. Highly recommended to everyone, who enjoy Cherokee Purple taste.

PRAIRIE FIRE. There’s even proof of how sweet this tomato is…a BRIX reading of 10.0 (unit of measurement for sugar content of an aqueous solution). Technically a grape tomato but some grow like a roma. First to fruit and ripen. Extremely prolific!! Compact plant, good for container and easy to grow. Some say better tasting than sungold and black cherry?!?...WHAT? I got it for all the raving reviews. Always in search of the next MUST GROW.

UKRANIAN PURPLE. A versatile heirloom recognized for its deep purplish-red, plum-shaped fruits and rich, smoky-sweet flavor. These 6 oz tomatoes feature a dense, meaty texture with low water content, making them a premier choice for both fresh slicing and thick gourmet sauces. The indeterminate vines are notably cold-tolerant and vigorous, consistently producing clusters of crack-resistant fruit even as temperatures drop late in the season. Its combination of complex "black tomato" depth and rugged reliability makes it a consistent performer for gardeners in various climates.

SUNRISE BUMBLEBEE. Our first offering from the BumbleBee Collection from Artisan Seeds. Beautiful small oval fruits that can be a bit pointy. Yellow/orange dominates with pretty, pink striped marbling and a firm skin. Taste improves later in the season and become excellent and sweet and it is in fact the sweetest in the Bumble Bee line, said to be reminiscent of a tropical fruit. Shorter vines produce abundantly from early summer until frost. What’s more, they have excellent disease resistance and refuse to be stopped.

PURPLE BUMBLEBEE. Again, from Artisan Seeds, comes Purple Bumblebee. A unique bronzy-purple cherry with lime green metallic marbling. Specially bred to perform under tough conditions. Plants are unfazed by temperature extremes, are crack resistant, possess excellent holding quality and produce allll season long. The high acidity of this variety makes for a tangy, less sweet flavor with a touch of smokiness. Ideal for fresh eating off the vine or on salads.

PINK BUMBLE BEE. From Artisan Seeds comes the Bumble Bee Series…the Pink Bumble Bee, with it’s pretty pink and orange marbled look, is a stellar example of how these artist breeders are creating beauty with complex flavor and texture. Pick one or all three to try out in your garden this year. Very productive and hold up well to cracking. A favorite to try out your tomato fermenting game on. Also a good variety for growing in containers just outside your doorway for that quick addition to your dinner salad. Try this tomato at all stages of ripening to see which is your favorite.

PINK TIGER. Ruby pink and gold prettiness. Shockingly sweet. High Yielding. Slightly earlier than the others. Easy to grow. Excellent flavor.

LUCKY TIGER. Are you going to be one of the lucky ones growing this beauty in your garden this year? 😉 Top marks for flavor…super sweet, tangy with tropical notes. Shades of green, red and hints of gold. The jewel of the Tiger Series.

BLUSH TIGER. Glitters and shines. Superb flavor. Cocktail-type tomato. Slightly crunchy. A gourmet choice. And the sweetest of the bunch. Eat this one straight outta the garden. Mix with the Pink Tiger for a beautiful Tomato Galette or a Ruby Tomato Jam that your friends will be begging for a jar of.

GREEN TIGER. Elongated and pointed saladette tomato. Lime green and yellow tiger stripes. Pineapple and fruity undertones. Throw these in that Morning Green Juice (spinach, celery, parsley, cucumber, pineapple and these beauties)and super-charge the start of your day!

BLUE BERRIES . A "wildly productive" cherry variety prized for its dramatic indigo-to-black appearance and antioxidant-rich skin. These 1/2–2 oz fruits ripen to reveal a deep crimson base and a "sparkling" fruity flavor that balances high sweetness with a tangy, acidic finish. Vines are exceptionally vigorous and resilient, yielding an "avalanche" of crack-resistant clusters that boast a long shelf life and excellent hang-time on the

WAPSIPINICON PEACH. A multi-award-winning heirloom celebrated for its unique, fuzzy skin and "peach-like" appearance. 2-inch, round fruits that ripen to a creamy, pale yellow with a soft, velvety texture. Beyond its novelty, it is prized for an exceptionally sweet, juicy flavor that features low acidity and a distinctively fruity, almost spicy finish. Notably prolific and disease-resistant, consistently yielding heavy clusters of these "woolly" tomatoes until the first frost. Its succulent, creamy flesh and conversation-starting appearance make it a premier choice for fresh eating or adding a gourmet touch to summer salads.

WHITE CURRANT. a wild-type specialty tomato that produces massive quantities of tiny, marble-sized fruits. These translucent, ivory-to-pale-yellow berries are famous for being some of the sweetest tomatoes available, often compared to tropical fruit or candy. Because the skin is very thin and the texture is exceptionally juicy, they offer a delicate "pop" that makes them a favorite for gourmet garnishes, snacking, and kid-friendly gardening. The indeterminate vines are incredibly vigorous and sprawling, reaching up to 8 feet in length and requiring significant space or heavy trellising to manage their dense, bird-nest-like growth.

                  PASTE/SAUCE/ROMA
BLUE MARZANO. An exotic twist on the classic Italian paste tomato, combining traditional sauce-making qualities with striking, antioxidant-rich skin. These elongated, 2–3 oz fruits feature an eggplant-purple blush that ripens to a deep burgundy, protecting a vibrant red interior that is exceptionally meaty and low in seeds. While its mild, sweet flavor is pleasant for fresh eating, its high density and low water content make it a premier choice for thick, gourmet sauces and canning. The indeterminate vines are notably prolific and vigorous, consistently yielding clusters of "blue" plum tomatoes until the first frost.

SAN MARZANO. This fancy, classic Italian paste tomato is a necessity to grow if you want to make sauce, or be cool ;) I add these to my other heirlooms to thicken up the sauce a bit. Not as big as the Amish Paste but sometimes it's all in the name! Elongated 3" fruits. Chefs call it the premium tomato. Large plants with heavy yields.

PINK FANG. Resembling a large, tapered pepper, the Pink Fang is a striking open-pollinated heirloom recognized for its elongated shape and exceptional "all-meat" texture. These 4–6 inch fruits ripen to a vibrant, glowing pink and feature incredibly dense flesh with almost no seeds or gel. Because of its high solids and low water content, it serves as a premier choice for creating thick, naturally sweet gourmet sauces and pastes. The indeterminate vines are notably vigorous, consistently yielding clusters of these pointed fruits that offer a rich, old-fashioned flavor with very low acidity.

LURLEY PASTE. A red paste variety. Very strong tomato taste with a lot of bite. Very juicy for a paste. This tomato was brought from Italy in 1970’s by Kay Ventrella (Ventrello). and has been grown by the Lurley family in Ohio ever since. Absolutely one of the best paste types out there, very productive, with dense dry flesh, and few seeds. Many reached 8 inches long. 8 oz to 1 lb. Seeds from Lurley Loescher Hernandez.

ROMEO. The biggest Roma ever, (up to 2 lbs). Perfectly handsome, 6-12 oz. Very good full tomato flavor, more acidic than sweet. Not many seeds. It makes delicious rich tomato sauce, but also good fresh on sandwich or in salads. Very large paste tomatoes which are long and fat with a blunt point on the blossom scar end. Fruits can reach up to one and half pounds. Very good, old-fashioned flavor. Thin skin, meaty with few seeds. No green shoulders, dark-crimson colored when fully ripened lend it to being a perfect sauce, ketchup, paste variety. Known to have been grown by Gary Millwood. First offered in the Seed Savers 2005 Yearbook by Mary Christison of Madison, Wisconsin (WI CH M), who bought the seed from Peters Seed & Research.

SANTA MARIA. A tomato growing friend of Remy Rotella from Niagara county, New York bragged about these huge red pastes from an old Italian immigrant friend of his father in law’s. Dark red fruits are far more meaty than seedy. Might be tastier than Romeo. At the 2017 Tomato Fest in Highland, MI held by Michigan Heirlooms and Santa Maria was voted the favorite of the attendees! Remy left us with a lot of wonderful heirlooms. This is just one of them.

AMISH PASTE. Much bigger than the San Marzano without a huge sacrifice on flavor. A longtime favorite heirloom paste/plum tomato. 8-12 ounce fruits with a meaty and juicy interior. Fewer seeds help keep your sauces from being bitter. Sweeter than other paste tomatoes. Such a wimpy starter/seedling though so be prepared when you get it. As soon as it gets in the ground and growing though it earns its' reputation.

KOREAN LONG. I'm almost hesitant to offer this because these seedlings are looking so weak. I have yet to start a "paste type" tomato that seems like it can hold it's own. My standards for what I feel is appropriate to offer to you is so high that I get so upset at these paste tomatoes. BUT I have been following tomato sites and watching reviews for years on paste tomatoes to TRY to offer you something great and this one (and Bread and Salt) always show up as big winners so I got them for us this year. The other thing is that once they get in the ground they take off but when you get them in your order they look like they are teeny tiny wimpy not worth it "losers" LOL. So order at your own risk. AND I think what I will do this year is offer a "paste tomato" collection at a discounted rate and maybe one of you can finally settle which one is the best. They call this a productive and reliable paste tomato that is also crack resistant. Long pinkish-red fruits that have a curved pointy end. I've been drawn to them because they look cool. The sweet and juicy and large fruits make a great tomato sauce with a strong tomato taste.

BREAD AND SALT. A big and meaty oxheart type tomato perfect for sauce making. If you have little space and want to grow to make sauce, this or Hungarian Heart will give you the most tomato per space. Another one that is talked about in tomato circles. Can also be used for slicing if you like your tomatoes with less seeds. For me, the more seeds and goo the better ;)

MARTINO'S ROMA. I have it on good authority that THIS is the one...so I find out for myself. Each paste tomato has it's own unique set of attributes. Small but tasty and authentic (San Marzano), big and dense producing many fruits (Amish Paste), the biggest mother of them all (Hungarian Heart) and so on. I am hoping this one checks all the boxes. An heirloom italian paste tomato shared by Maureen Conway from the Finger Lakes of NY who got it from a friend who brought the seeds over from Italy. The classic roma shaped tomato with excellent flavor and bright red fruits.
