NJCAA Home School Information

In determining NJCAA entrance eligibility, the college shall review the student-athlete’s home school high school transcript. The home school transcript must clearly display the following information.

B.2.a. - Student’s name (first, middle, last) and date of birth
B.2.b. - For each course completed include the following:
B.2.b.i. - Specific course title
B.2.b.ii. - Units of credit for each
B.2.b.iii. - Time frame or semester in which completed
B.2.b.iv. - Grade received

B.2.c. - Description of the grading system used such as a grade scale or grade key.
B.2.d. - Graduation date (month/day/year) indicating completion of secondary school education.
B.2.e. - The name of the home school administrator who organized, taught and evaluated course work if not the parent named in item B.2.g below.
B.2.f. - The following statement, or one substantially similar, shall appear above the parent signature line described in item

B.2.g below:
B.2.f.i. - “I, the undersigned, do hereby solemnly attest that this student has completed secondary school education in a home school setting on the date indicated, and under the laws governing the state and county in which the homeschooling occurred.”

B.2.g. - Name and address of a parent or legal guardian with a space for their signature. The transcript is to be signed in the presence of the Notary Public (see item B.2.h below).

B.2.h. - The transcript must be notarized, and include:
B.2.h.i. - Notary Public signature
B.2.h.ii. - Printed name
B.2.h.iii. - Date
B.2.h.iv. - State and county
B.2.h.v. - Date commission expires

B.2.i. - The transcript must be mailed by the preparer directly to the college Admissions and Records office.

NJCAA Foreign Transcript Information

Interpretation of Foreign Transcripts: Where translation of foreign transcripts is required, translation for the purposes of NJCAA eligibility is the responsibility of the student-athlete.

B.3.a. - Foreign transcripts of student-athletes who attended a foreign high school and
whose high school credentials confirming graduation or completion of secondary education which is in a language other than English must be translated.
B.3.b. - Foreign transcripts of student-athletes who previously attended a foreign college or university and participated in intercollegiate or club athletics must be translated.
B.3.c. - Foreign transcripts of student-athletes who attended a college or university in Canada or any U.S. Territory or Possession are required and must be translated.
B.3.d. - Foreign transcripts of student-athletes who previously attended a foreign college or university which was neither in Canada nor a U.S. Territory or Possession and who did not participate in intercollegiate or club athletics need not be translated as they are not permitted to be used for NJCAA eligibility.

You must submit your official high school transcript to Madison College immediately. Contact your head coach to inform them of this situation.

We highly encourage you to submit those transcripts to Madison College immediately as this may have an effect on your academic plan. Contact your head coach to inform them of this situation.

Year of Eligibility

Participation in any portion of any official game or contest constitutes a year of athletic eligibility used.

Full-Time Semester

A full-time semester is one in which you were registered for 12 or more credits beyond the first 18 days of the semester.

Transfer Students

Any/all official college transcripts must be on file in the registration office and in the Madison College athletic office prior to ANY official practice or competition.

If you did not go directly from high school to Madison College full-time enrollment or have not maintained full-time college enrollment, all of your activities must be fully and accurately documented per NJCAA rules.

Include all education and/or employment activities from high school graduation to the present. Names and locations (city, state) of employers must be included. If you attended college classes, please indicate the college and each semester of attendance (document full-time and/or part-time attendance).

Example:

9/17-7/18 - Did not attend college and worked at Menards (Baraboo, WI)

8/18-12/18 - Part-time student at UW-Baraboo (Baraboo, WI)

1/19-5/19 - Part-time student at Madison College and worked at LensCrafters (McFarland, WI)

6/19-12/19 - Unemployed - Did not attend college and lived in McFarland, WI

1/20-Present - Full-Time student at Madison College
