    MVP Resort clients are free to park in any of the spots marked “Drop-off” or “Pick-up” at the rear of our building.


    Regular Hours 

    Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
    Saturday 8:00am - 12:00pm
    Sunday 3:00pm - 5:00pm


    Holiday Hours 

    Daycare closures, hours of operation, and training class schedules will be impacted on, or around, our recognized holidays


    Boarding reservations will incur an added holiday rate

    Staffing Hours

    We have continual staff on site daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm all days of the week. 
    We do not guarantee staff on site from 8:00pm to 6:00am.


    Facility Accessibility 

    We take the security and safety of our staff, clients, and guests very seriously. 
    All visitors only have access to our facility during operating hours through the front lobby.
    Our building is equipped with a security system that requires a key card for entry after regular business hours.
    All rooms outside of the lobby are only accessible to authorized personnel who have undergone specialized training and have been granted clearance by management.

    Scheduling 

    You can always call or email us, but we are proud to offer online scheduling.

    Appointments are required for:

    • Daycare
    • Boarding
    • Grooming
    • Training
    • We Wash

    Walk-ins are permitted for the self-service dog wash.


    All appointments requests require approval. Once a request has been approved, clients will receive a confirmation response email from our office.


    Clients will not receive any further communication from our office regarding their appointment, and should abide by the cancellation policy outlined below if any changes need to be made. Failure to do so may result in a charge being incurred.


    Cancellation Policy 

    • Daycare: Notice must be given by 8am the day prior (1 business day). Late cancellations will result in one full day being charged or deducted from daycare packages
    • Boarding: Notice must be given 72 business hours prior to stay with the exception of stays over holidays, which require 7 business days' notice. Late cancellations or no shows will forfeit their deposi
    • Private Training: Notice must be given 72 business hours in advance
    • Group training classes, notice must be given 14 days prior to the start of the class to receive a refund. No partial refunds will be given for individual classes missed.

    Appointment Tardiness Policy 

    10 Minutes or Less: We will still see you
    10-20 Minutes Late: We'll try our best to see you, but it will be dependent on the schedule
    More Than 20 Minutes Late: 

    Private Lessons & Grooming: it will be dependent on the trainer’s schedule or groomer’s schedule
    Group Classes: You can still join, but you'll miss the beginning and won't get a personal recap.


    Deposits Policy 

    Deposits are required for all bathing, boarding, consultation, daycare plus, grooming and training services


    Payment Policy 

    Payment required at time of service.
    Accepted payment methods: ApplePay, Discover, Mastercard, Visa and American Express.


    Pictures and Social Media 

    We may capture photos and/or videos of your pet during their stay at MVP Resort.
    These images may be used for promotional purposes on our social media platforms and website.
    If you prefer that your pet's image not be used, please let us know in writing. 
    We will make every effort to respect your wishes.

     

  • Resort Healthcare Requirements

  • Canine Age and Sex Requirements

    • Dogs must be > 6 months old for daycare
    • Dogs must be spayed/neutered for daycare
    • Dogs > 12 years must have an examination of health at maximum one month prior to boarding

    Dog Vaccine and Diagnostic Requirements

    • Bi-Annual Negative Fecal Test (every 6 months)
    • Rabies Vaccine
    • Distemper Vaccine* this vaccine is a series meaning more than one shot is required to achieve immunity.  The entire series must be completed prior to attending the Resort
    • Leptospirosis Vaccine* this vaccine is a series meaning more than one shot is required to achieve immunity.  The entire series must be completed prior to attending the Resort
    • Bordetella Vaccine
    • Influenza H3N8/H3N2* this vaccine is a series meaning more than one shot is required to achieve immunity.  The entire series must be completed prior to attending the Resort

    Feline Vaccine and Diagnostic Requirements

    • Bi-Annual Negative Fecal Test (every 6 months): Multi-feline households need only one negative stool sample test for both cats, entered on the same date
    • 1 FelV/FIV negative test at any point in cat's life
    • Rabies Vaccine
    • Distemper Vaccine* this vaccine is a series meaning more than one shot is required to achieve immunity.  The entire series must be completed prior to attending the Resort

    Flea/Tick Treatment

    • Guests must be current on flea/tick preventative
    • Guests with visible fleas or ticks will require treatment by our veterinary team. Clients will be financially responsible for this treatment.

    Timeliness

    • Some vaccine requirements will require a minimum of two weeks to finish the vaccine series
    • Treating parasites can also take a while if a fecal test is positive
    • You are responsible for communicating with your vet what you need in order to board at our facility
    • Please plan accordingly with your veterinarian to complete the requirements in a timely manner and prior to services with us
    • Your reservation will be canceled if your pet is not current prior to services for the safety of all the pets in our facility.

    Health

    • MVPR guests entering the facility must be in good health and free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health of other guests.
    • Pets displaying respiratory symptoms such as: nasal discharge, eye discharge and coughing will not be allowed to enter the facility.
    • Pets starting to exhibit signs of illness will be isolated to prevent possible further spread of illness. Owners will be informed immediately.

    Medical Treatment

    • In the event of illness or injury, we reserve the right to provide immediate medical care for your pet through the veterinarians on site at Mainstay Veterinary Practice. 
    • Any guests requiring extensive medical care will be transported to VCA Southpaws located at 8500 Arlington Boulevard Fairfax, Virginia
    • MVPR is not responsible for any medical bills accrued in the event of illness.
  • Resort Service Policies and Waivers

  • Belongings

    • We do not accept outside belongings.
    • We provide everything your companion will need throughout their stay, including bedding, blankets, bowls and toys.

    Dress Code

    • All MVPR canine guests must arrive on leash and collar for their safety. 
    • Collars should be neither too tight nor too loose.

    Food

    • All MVPR guests are encouraged to bring their personal diet from home to avoid any gastro-intestinal upset throughout their stay
    • House food is available at an additional expense
    • Guests are required to bring pre-measured meals in bags to cover the duration of their stay with our facility to ensure meal consumption accuracy.  Food not pre-measured will incur an additional bagging fee.
    • Large bins and full dog food bags will not be accepted!
    • Rawhide and chews are not accepted or presented to guests due to potential choking hazards 
    • For the safety and well-being of your pet, we require all meals to be pre-bagged for each feeding.
    • If you haven't pre-bagged your pet's food, we can do it for you for a one-time fee of $35 per pet. This fee covers the cost of individual bagging and labeling to ensure accurate portion control and avoid any confusion during your pet's stay.

    Medications

    • Any medications must be in their originally dispensed bottle with prescription labels
    • Over-the-counter medications must be owner-labeled with tape including instructions
    • Baggies, medication organizers etc will not be accepted

    Bathing

    • If a guest has an accident during their stay that warrants a bath (normally meaning they sat in it, etc), your pet will receive a bath and you will be charged

    Daycare

    Daycare Behavior:

    • Dogs must not display aggressive resource-guarding behaviors around food, water bowls or housing
    • Dogs must have no history of harming or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior towards any person
    • All dogs will complete the consultation and training evaluation confirming eligibility for group interaction activities

    Guest Dismissal Policy:

    • If any guest becomes dangerous to staff or other residents during group interactions MVPR reserves the right to dismiss him/her from group activities.
    • The MVPR team will do everything we can to work with you before this course of action is taken, and offer resources for further help and training specific to your dog’s needs.

    Rest Time:

    • A mandatory rest time for canine guests is a regular part of their visits at MVPR, specifically for guests partaking in group activities. 
    • We do not limit the amount of rest time a dog can take, and we will never force activity participation if they would prefer to rest.

    Training

    Equipment and Rental Policy:

    • You will be responsible for providing appropriate training equipment and tools for your dog per your selected training program.
    • If you do not bring the appropriate tools and equipment, you must rent MVPR equipment for a $25 fee or forfeit that session. 

    Group Class Liability

    Dog Safety and Behavior

    • You are required to disclose any history of aggression or potential safety concerns to the trainer before the class begins
    • You are solely responsible for the safety and well-being of your dog during the entire group class session, including both indoor and outdoor portions.
    • Keep your dog(s) on non-retractable leashes at all times
    • This includes maintaining control of your dog on a leash at all times and ensuring they do not exhibit aggressive behavior towards other dogs or people
    • We reserve the right to ask you and your dog to leave the class if your dog shows signs of aggression or poses a safety risk

    Outdoor Portions

    • You acknowledge that outdoor training environments present additional risks compared to indoor settings.
    • These may include distractions, uneven terrain, and encounters with unfamiliar dogs or wildlife.
    • You assume full responsibility for your dog's safety during outdoor training exercises.

    Group Class Liability Waiver

    • We disclaim any and all liability for injuries sustained by your dog or yourself during the group class, both indoors and outdoors.
    • This includes, but is not limited to, bites, scratches, leash corrections, or accidents caused by other dogs or environmental factors.

    Private Training Waiver 

    • I understand and agree to the following: 
    • Dog training activities may involve physical exertion and potential risks, including but not limited to, injury to myself, my dog, or others. 
    • I release Mainstay Veterinary Practice Resort, its trainers, employees, and affiliates from any liability for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during or as a result of the training sessions. 
    • I agree to follow instructions provided by the trainer, practice techniques outside of the sessions, and inform the trainer of any concerns or changes in my dog's behavior. 
    • I understand that failure to adhere to the trainer's recommendations may result in slower progress, limited effectiveness of the training sessions and possibly hinder the achievement of desired outcomes. 
    • I agree that the rate of behavior change is affected by a combination of practicing at home, dog genetics, and a variety of other factors and that results or progression rate cannot be guaranteed. 
    • I agree to allow MVPR to use photos or videos taken during sessions for promotional 
    • I agree that I am solely responsible for the safety and well-being of my dog during the entire training sessions, including indoor and outdoor training and to keep my dog(s) on a non-retractable leash at all times.

    Training Consultation Deposit

    • A $100 deposit is required to schedule your private training consultation. 
    • This deposit will be applied as a credit toward the cost of your selected training package if you decide to move forward with a program.
    • To apply the $100 deposit toward a training package, you must book your package within one (1) week of your consultation. 
    • If a training package is not booked within this time frame, the $100 deposit will be retained as a consultation fee and will not be applicable to future bookings.

    Bathing Liability Waiver

    • I am aware of the potential risks associated with bathing, including cuts, scrapes, skin rashes, ear infections, and, though rare, more serious injuries.
    • I understand that bathing can sometimes aggravate pre-existing medical conditions, and I disclose any known pre-existing medical conditions affecting my pet, including allergies, skin sensitivities, or aggressive behavior.
    • I agree that in the event of an emergency requiring immediate medical attention, the bather may seek veterinary care for my pet at my expense, and I will be contacted immediately if possible.
    • I release and hold harmless the Resort  and its employees from any and all liability for any injuries, illnesses, or other damages to my pet arising from or related to bathing services provided, except for those resulting from gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

    By signing below, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

    • You have voluntarily chosen to use the services provided by Mainstay Veterinary Practice Resort.
    • You understand that participation in services such as boarding, daycare, grooming, or any other animal care involves inherent risks, including but not limited to illness, injury, or unforeseen incidents involving your pet(s).
    • You agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Mainstay Veterinary Practice Resort, its staff, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising from or related to services provided.
    • You accept full responsibility for any harm or injury caused by your pet(s) to other animals, staff, or property while on the premises.

    By signing, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement for the duration of your use of services at Mainstay Veterinary Practice Resort.
