  • Guardian Information

  • Females can be bred between their second heat and their 6th birthday. Males can be bred from approximately 1 year of age through most of their life.

  • Maple Lane Guardian Program includes the following for females:

    · Additional vet visits for testing in each breeding cycle.  This is a breeding expense and will be covered by us of course, but, depending on your distance from our home and vet office, you may need to take her to your vet for those additional visits.

    · Periodic eye screenings and additional hip testing for breeding, which we will generally provide transportation for (cost covered by us).

    · We will need to take her 2-3 times over the course of several days for breeding at each breeding cycle, each time for several hours.

    · She will need to return to our home for whelping and caring for her puppies. If you are interested in mom and puppies staying in your home from whelping (which we would attend) through 6 weeks, we can discuss that possibility.  There is financial compensation for the time and work involved in caring for the puppies.  This option is only open if there if either spouse stays home as puppies require regular attention throughout the day.

    · You will need to make us aware of the early signs of heat and the arrival of her heat cycle each time, whether or not we intend to breed on that cycle so that we can track her cycle.

Maple Lane Breeding Program includes the following for Males:

    · Additional vet visits for testing when he is bred.  This is a breeding expense and will be covered by us of course, but, depending on your distance from our home and vet office, you may need to take her to your vet for those additional visits.

    · Periodic eye screenings and additional hip testing for breeding, which we will generally provide transportation for (cost covered by us).

    · We will need him for a few hours 2-3 times over the course of 3-5 days when we breed him.  We will work together on timing and transportation.

    · Being aware that intact males have a strong desire to reproduce and cannot be allowed access to intact females, even young females, who are in heat.

  • Preparations For Bringing Your Puppy Home

  • Puppy fur is quite forgiving and easy to care for.  Around 8 months of age, their adult coat will come.  Adult coats mat more easily.  If you keep your Australian Labradoodles' fur shorter than 3 inches, weekly brushing and careful cutting out of any stubborn mats will keep your dog's coat beautiful and mat-free.  If you want to keep their fur longer, you will need to brush multiple times each week or even daily.  Remember, mats are painful to their skin.

Australian Labradoodles need to see the groomer every 6-8 weeks throughout their lifetime.
