The Facility Manager plays a vital role in supporting the success of our outdoor community theatre by ensuring that the facility, technical equipment, and workspaces are safe, organized, and performance-ready. This position works closely with volunteers and production teams to maintain the Barn’s unique performance environment and uphold its long-standing tradition of quality community theatre.
The Facilities Manager position involves helping with technical troubleshooting and the equipment used during performances, as well as maintenance and upkeep of technical equipment, tools, and supplies.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, an ability to work effectively with community volunteers of all experience levels, a basic knowledge of maintenance, tools, and safety practices, and an ability to lift and move equipment, all within an outdoor environment. Background experience with the technical side of theatre, such as sound and lighting systems, is a plus.

This is a seasonal role that aligns with the summer production schedule at Maplewood Barn. The Facilities Manager should have availability on evenings and weekends as needed, especially when there are tech rehearsals and shows. In addition, the facility manager will also assist during opening and closing procedures for the Barn production season and help ensure the facility is preserved and protected during the off-season.*

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

I’m excited to be part of the Maplewood Barn team! I understand that theatre activities may include physical work, tools, moving sets, stage lights, boxes, and outdoor elements that carry some risks. By joining in, I accept those risks and agree to take care of my own safety. I release Maplewood Barn, the production team, and volunteers from any claims related to injury or loss during my participation, except in cases of serious negligence. I also authorize emergency medical care if needed and will be responsible for any costs.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

I’m happy to be part of Maplewood Barn team! I give permission for photos, videos, and other media of me taken during theatre activities to be used by Maplewood Barn for promotions and social media. I understand there’s no payment or approval needed for this use.
I represent and warrant to Maplewood Barn Community Theatre that I am at least eighteen (18) years of age, and I have full right, power, and authority to enter into the above Agreements and grant the rights granted hereunder.
