    Mint Artists make money, friends, and creative connections.  Talented artists gather to learn the business, career and life skills needed to make a living in the visual arts.

    Apply to join Mint Artists Learn and Earn Program ... and you could sell your work at the Palmer Park Art Fair and many other places.

  • Tell us about one teacher or coach who will recommend you? Art teachers are wonderful, and we also are glad to talk to math or chemistry instructors, theater coaches and anyone who knows you well.

  • Participation Rules:
    • Artists must attend and participate in at least 75 percent of workshops and training.
    • Participants must attend schools in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston or Washtenaw Counties.  Anyone who is in high school or recently graduated and not attending college full-time may participate. Generally ages 13 to 20.
    • All work to be shown or sold at Mint events must be original, designed and handcrafted by the artist using safe, non-toxic materials. 
    • Artists must oversee their own space at events.
    • Mint prohibits art that infringes on copyright or trademarks.
    • Art at Mint events must be appropriate for a general audience, PG rated.  Event producer has final say on what is acceptable.  Avoid work that is violent, explicit, promotes divisiveness, illegal or dangerous behavior.
    • Complete rules will be provided after acceptance into the program.
  • Your parents or guardian
     
    If you are under age 18 parental permission is required; we also encourage parents participation.
     
    This information must be completed for all applicants under 18 as of Sept. 1, 2021.

  • Your Creative Work
     
    We work with teens who already are accomplished artists and know how to create strong visual or other art. Our program focuses on professional and business skills and career ideas.
  • You must send at least two photos of your best recent work.  You may send as many as three.

    File sizes must be between 1MB and 4MB in size and only the following extensions will be accepted: pdf, jpg, jpeg, png.

  • In order to participate you must agree to follow these rules
     
    • I have read the requirements.
    • I understand and will comply with the rules and regulations of this event, as outlined on this application.
    • I understand that all items to be sold must be substantially created by me.
    • I understand that the materials used in the art to be sold must be safe and nontoxic.
    • I understand that my artwork must meet community standards for exhibits and shows. The organization and its partners reserve the right to reject in advance, or on-site, any or all artwork at their discretion. 
    • I understand that my dress and behavior must be within professional standards when participating in workshops, exhibits, or otherwise representing the organization.
    • The organization reserves the right to accept or reject any applicant and to discontinue working with any participant that they choose for any legal reason.
    • You may not use licensed, trademarked, or copyrighted logos or clip art or names (for example, no use of comic book characters, cartoon characters, or video/television characters, sports team logos, or names.)
    • I agree to hold  Mint, its officers, staff, and volunteers harmless for accidents, lost or stolen artwork. 
    • I agree that the artist may be given emergency medical care as required.
