This agreement is entered into between Marlise Kakwata (Tutor), {parentgaurdianName} (Parent/Gaurdian) and {childstudentName} (Learner).
1. Purpose of Tutoring
The tutor agrees to provide academic support through online tutoring sessions. Tutoring is intended to support learning, understanding, and exam preparation, but does not guarantee specific marks or academic results.
2. Tutoring Format
- Tutoring is conducted online via Zoom/Google Meet. Standard session length: 1 hour.
- Group sessions run once per week on Thursdays at 18:30 unless otherwise communicated.
- Lessons consist of past paper breakdowns
3. Fees & Payment
- Tutoring fee is R200 per learner
4. Communication
- All official communication will take place via WhatsApp.
- Learners will be added to a WhatsApp group where weekly reminders, session links, and important announcements will be shared in advance.
- Parents/guardians will receive information about the learner's progress.
5. Tutor Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver structured, exam-focused tutoring sessions.
- Cover relevant syllabus content and exam techniques.
- Provide agreed-upon resources (e.g. digital notes, past paper practice).
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive online learning environment.
- Provide a catch-up session if the lesson is cancelled by the tutor.
6. Student Responsibilities
- Attend sessions on time and remain engaged for the full duration. Missed sessions are not refundable.
- Participate actively and complete assigned practice or revision.
- Engage with schoolwork and study outside of the online groups.
- Bring required materials (notes, stationery, syllabus, etc.).
- Respect the tutor and other learners during group sessions.
- Use tutoring sessions for academic purposes only.
- The tutor reserves the right to remove a learner from a session if behaviour is disruptive or inappropriate.
7. Parent/guardian Responsibilities
- Ensure fees are paid on time
- Provide a suitable learning environment during online sessions.
- Understand that improvement depends on the learner’s effort, attendance, and practice.
- Encourage consistency, discipline, and accountability.
8. Learning Materials
- Digital notes, worksheets, and resources may be provided.
- Digital notes remain the intellectual property of the tutor and may not be shared, sold, or redistributed.
9. Limitation of Liability
The tutor is not responsible for:
- Internet or technical issues on the student’s side.
- School teaching quality or examination setting.
- Academic performance outside tutoring sessions.
10. Termination of Services
- Either party may discontinue tutoring with reasonable notice.
- No refunds will be issued for sessions already completed or missed.
