Speech Soirée invites six speakers to share their perspective on this year's theme,
Where Do You Find Community?
Whether you've spoken before or are considering your first speech, this is your chance to take the stage, build confidence, and demonstrate the skills you've developed through Speech Network and beyond.
Date: Thursday, November 12, 2026
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Location: In Person at MCAWW
Prizes: 1st Place: $200 - 2nd Place: $100 - 3rd Place: $50
All speech participants will receive a goodie bag.
Rules & Guidance:
- Participants must present their speech in person at MCAWW.
- Speeches must be a minimum of 5 minutes and no longer than 7 minutes.
- This contest is open exclusively to MCAWW members.
- Feedback and voting will be based on the following criteria:
- Structure: Present a clear, organized speech with effective transitions between the beginning, middle, and end.
- Speaking Voice: Use Vocal variety, pacing, clarity, and volume to effectively engage the audience.
- Body Language: Demonstrate a confident presence through posture, eye contact, purposeful gestures, and facial expressions.
- Content: Deliver an authentic message that connects to the theme Where Do You Find Community? Explore the people, places, and experiences that have shaped your sense of connection and belonging.
- Following all presentations, attendees, both in person and virtual cast their votes for their favorite speech based on the criteria above.
- The speech receiving the most votes will be declared the winner.
- The winner will be announced before theconclusion of the meeting.
