2026 - 2027 Application for the

Marshall - Hawkins Memorial Book Scholarship
The Montgomery County Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association announces the Marshall-Hawkins Memorial Book Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. One to an incoming freshman and the other to a continuing student attending Hampton University in the Fall of 2026.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- Must be a student attending Hampton University in the Fall of 2026.
- Must be resident of and attend school in Montgomery County, Maryland.
- Must provide one Letter of Recommendation.
- Must provide most recent transcript.
- Must provide proof of acceptance to Hampton University. (incoming freshman)
- Must provide 250-word essay discussing the following:
Hampton University is known as the Standard of Excellence. How do you intend to contribute to that standard during your studies at Hampton University?

*Application must be submitted by July 15th, 2026 at 11:59pm.

*GPA, extracurricular activities, and career statement are not required but may assist in the selection process.
