1. Membership Requirement
Only registered members of the library are eligible to borrow books. Membership must be current and in good standing. Members must be at least 12 and over.
2. Borrowing Limit
Members can borrow up to [1] book at a time.
3. Loan Period
Books may be borrowed for a period of [21] days. Extensions may be requested, subject to availability, but must be made at least 5 days before the due date.
4. Renewals
Borrowers may renew books for an additional [7] days unless the book is on hold for another user. Renewals can be done online or at the library desk.
5. Late Returns
A late fee of [£2] per day will be charged for each book not returned by the due date. Borrowing privileges may be suspended until all overdue books are returned and fees are paid.
6. Book Reservations
Books currently on loan can be reserved by other members. Members will be notified when a reserved book becomes available, and they will have [3] days to collect it.
7. Lost or Damaged Books
Members are responsible for the care of borrowed books. In case of loss or damage, the borrower must replace the book or pay the replacement cost as determined by the library.
8. Non-Transferable
Library cards and borrowing privileges are non-transferable. Books borrowed on a member's card are the responsibility of that member.
9. Book Holds and Return Policies
Borrowers must return or renew books before borrowing new ones if their account is in good standing (i.e., no overdue books or unpaid fees).
10. Suspension of Borrowing Privileges
The library reserves the right to suspend borrowing privileges for members with overdue books, unpaid fines, or violations of library policies.
11. Library Rights
The library reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Borrowers will be informed of any changes when they become effective.
12. Privacy Policy
Personal information collected during membership registration will only be used for library-related purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law.
